Someone told me that the interview will be more like an interrogation process where we are both put in separate rooms and grilled on every type of question imagineable from what are the names of your fiance's siblings to how your fiance' likes his coffee.

Does anyone have any insight into this? My interview is in Bogota'

I am not sure where you are from but in our cicumstance only the fiancee is interviewed. From what I have learned, they don't ask those kind of questions. They are the basic questions, how did you meet, how many times, etc... If you look in the Region forum you will probably find some people who have interviewed and the questions they were asked, which will help you out greatly. Wish you the best on your journey.

Thats totally not true! Its much easier than that...trust me. My fiance just had his interview and he said it was more like a small conversation than an interview. The officer was very nice and only asked him a few simple questions! Like.. Where did you meet, (even made a joke that he was my boss when he was here on his visa when we met!), where I am now, what I am studying in school and thats pretty much it! Every embassy is different but I don't think that you will have that hard of a time! Good luck to ya!

This might help you: (http://www.ins-fiance-visa.com/ins-fiance-visa-process-consular.html)

INS Fiancée Visa Consular Interview

Before the issuance of the INS fiance visa, there will be an interview with a consular officer. The interviewing officer will question the beneficiary to determine eligibility for the visa benefit that has been requested. These are not trick questions. The questions and answers are very straight forward. There is no reason to be flustered or nervous. The interviewing officer is not trying to trick your fiancé(e) into giving him an answer to deny the visa. The interviewing officer will go over the information contained in the petition and the visa application. If there are inconsistencies in the documents, then the consular officer will want explanations to resolve these inconsistencies. The consular officer may ask for letters and pictures or other items to verify the validity of the relationship. The key concept here is love and the desire of the petitioner and beneficiary to spend the rest of their lives together. The following are some questions that your alien fiance may hear at the interview for the INS fiance visa at the consulate. Some of the questions will be based on the consulate's knowledge of the customs of the country where your fiancé(e) lives.

1. What are your fiance's hobbies and interests?

2. What are your hobbies and interests?

3. What does your fiancé(e) do for a living?

4. What do you do for a living?

5. Do you know if your fiancé(e) was married before?

6. Does he have any children?

7. Will there be a problem with the children from his other relationship?

8. Did you know that your fiancee was divorced in 199-?

9. Does this matter to you?

10. Where do you plan to live in the United States?

11. When and how did you meet your fiance(e)?

12. How long have you been corresponding with your fiance(e)?

13. Do you have any wedding plans? Are you planning to have children?

14. What is your fiance(e)'s religious background?

15. What is your religious background?

16. Does your fiancé(e) speak and understand your language?

17. Do you speak and understand your fiance(e)'s language?

18. How do you two communicate?

19. Why do you want to come to the United States?

20. Why do you want to marry the Petitioner? HINT-" Because I love him and want to spend the rest of my life with him."

21. If there is a language difference, then how do you communicate?

That "someone" might be referring to a Stokes interview. That's a whole other thing.

Your fiancee is just going for a K-1 interview. Kitkat1 posted some of the regular questions for you.

Somebody's been watching too many bad movies... it's an interview, not an interrogation. You don't even go into a seperate room - as far as I know, you just stand at a counter and talk through a grille! They can ask as many questions as they like, but MOST places are very civil about it. They ask stuff like how/when you met, what job your fiance does for a living, where they live and so on. No thumbscrews involved, I promise :)

stokes interview???

what's that?

Apparently it's an interview to determine that a marriage is "bona fide" and involves both husband and wife.

"The INS will question them together regarding the marriage and the documents offered in support of the marriage. The INS Examiner will judge their demeanor, the way they interact together and other relevant factors. In cases where the INS has misgivings, the couple can be interviewed separately for extended periods. In these separate interviews, the couples are asked details of their daily lives and backgrounds. Their answers are later compared. The questioning goes beyond things that could be memorized prior to the interview. The couple is given a chance to respond in writing to explain discrepancies and provide further documentation, if after the interview the INS determines that the case is not appropriate for approval."

Yikes
