No question here. Just say now. It's been over 5 years. If he is not using it anymore, even if they press and give him the drug test, his blood will be negative, so what is the issue? There is no test that can prove that he did Marijuana 5 years ago.

I don't know if anyone else ever watches Citizen Pinoy? It's a show about US immigration issues on the Filipino Channel. Anyway an immigration attorney told a lady who asked his advise for her husband who had answered yes to the question on drug use. He was denied of course. The immigration attorney said he couldn't help since admitting to drug use was an automatic lifetime ban.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

My concern is that if he lies and if the medical examiner presses the issue, he may get caught in the lie or exhibit nervousness which will indicate that he is not being truthful

I guess you have to ask yourself how good of a liar he is.

CDJ is notorious for pressing this issue. Both of the approved medical facilities in CDJ have been known to tell outright lies about any type of drug use or contact being detectable by a drug test, no matter the passage of time. They tend to insist on the issue if you "look the part" or seem unsure in your anwers.

You might want to read this thread, another VJer who had a similar situation at CDJ. Good luck!

But if he gets caught in that lie, it's a huge issue

But it sounds like it will be an even bigger issue if he goes ahead and admits to the usage!

Many folks have "experimented" and so long as it was that long ago, I don't see a cause for worry. It is best to tell the truth...denying it may cause problems down the road. Maybe the question won't even come up.

he'd be an idiot to admit it if it was really 5 years ago. i dont think the medical examiner is going to grill him for it.

the real question is was it really 5 years ago. people have a habit of keeping things like this from their SO. if he's been using it recently, then he will get caught. i dunno about cocaine cause i've never tried it or cared, but weed takes as long as 2 months to get out of your system for the blood test i think.

YOUR ANSWER IS NO

If you say yes I will personally do this to you and your SO: :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

PS: I am not sure but I believe the question will come up at the medical by a doctor that will fly through a checklist of questions. This question will not come up in the interview at the embassy by some scary looking immigration official trying to investigate, intimidate, scare, harass, and squeeze a confession out of you, do not worry.

Just say no.

My wife had the medical exam/interview in CDJ back in February and she said they didnt even ask her so chances are the question might not even come up. If they do ask him about it and he says no it would be physically impossible to prove he is lying. Saying you did drugs at any point is one of the surefire ways to get denied, especially at that embassy.

Good luck in Juarez and remember just say NO.

In my country, you are asked during your medical if you tried drugs. The answers are then forwarded to the Embassy. And admittance is tantamount to a lifetime ban going to the US.

You are in a catch 22 situation. It's up to you to weigh the consequences and decide which is the lesser of two evils.

There was a case in Phillippines forum, where the beneficiary (female) admitted of taking Meth around 4 years ago, and she was banned for life.

I think the petitioner decided to move to Phillippines after that. So its basically is your choice, its a life time ban for certain and there are no waivers for it.
