Clearly McCain doesn't see the value in funding public heritage attractions like Museums, Planetariums, Art Galleries or "any of that $hit".

Exactly, this is a reasonable expenditure for the Midwest's premier planetarium. To represent it as an "overhead projector" for a planetarium in "Obama's hometown" is disingenuous in the extreme.

We don't need science, we just need to read our bibles more often. Stupid libruls who want to sit around watching stars, that's not going to help us Americans be Americans in the darn economic crisis now is it?

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Can it project a brighter economic future?

The McCain campaign seems to be pulling out all the stops to smear Obama as much as possible (I guess because they left it too late to pound on the Reverend Wright / William Ayres thing). I haven't checked the news yet - but there was a newspaper headline on one of the stands that they're now trying to connect Obama to some sort of terrorist bombing.

Well I guess they could program it to project little $ symbols instead of stars ;)

Freakin dumba$$. I didn't want to laugh out too much during those 'points' in the debate. Adler Planetarium rocks, FWIW.

And it is quite disturbing but not surprising how he's pioneering a new round of totally divisive politics, linking Chicago politicians and all to Obama. I mean, how freakin idiotic does he think people are? The only natural conclusion is that its the finishing pangs of a dying star.

Luckily we can see it reproduced on that dome ceiling at Adler with that $3M 'projector.'

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

It obvious what he was doing - playing off the ignorance of people who've never been there and likely never will.

So much for Straight Talk. As if it ever was...

Good thing you're not another an anti-Christian nutjob posting on articles without any mention of religion but bringing it anyway.

Did you know the Arabs were great astronomers? That means Obama really is a Muslim ready lay down pray rugs around the planetarium.

McCain isn't pioneering negative campaigning unless you're too young to have voted in the last election. You're surprised that politics can be . .. (drum roll) . . . divisive! Luckily, their will be no more division in America once Obama is elected. It will be a golden era where cats and dogs will be friends and everyone will love Americans all over the world as we all share bottles of Coca-Cola.

Why worry about dying stars when Obama can heal the seas?

Wow.

I guess that makes Stephen Hawking a Muslim too.

And don't forget, the reason that "western" civilization ceded science and astronomy to the Arabs during that time period was a little thing called the Christian-inspired Dark Ages.

Your ignorance is unsurpassed, my friend.

Apparently so.

Perhaps he has never been to one so they are alien to him.....
