Hi everyone,

Based on stats, Los Angeles DO applicants get interviewed after 6-8 months. These past few weeks, however, the waiting time is getting shorter and shorter :D

I received my interview notice yesterday for July 11th!!! That's a little over 3 months from my receipt date!!

Of course, I'm now a very happy but very nervous wreck :D:unsure:

I do not have a SSN yet (still waiting for my EAD)so we don't have shared bank accounts and health insurance. My name is on the lease and on the Internet bill but the rest of the bill is under my husband's name. My cellphone is still under my dad's plan because it's under a two-year contract. I drive my dad's car, the insurance is under my dad's name. Some of my husband's bills, like car insurance and car payments are still addressed to a house he shared with his brother. He has updated his address in his bank and office and he has added me to his life insurance. Next week, he will go to the DMV and change the address in his driver's license. (yes, sounds like we procrastinated  )

I have read threads about being interviewed separately. Even if it's a real marriage, that can still be scary. What if the immigration officer asks you a question that one would think a married couple will know but actually never paid attention to? (I asked my husband where we keep our spoons and he pointed to the wrong drawer  ) He cannot remember my cellphone number (well, who keys in cellphone numbers nowadays when everything is stored in your phone's memory?). He is so forgetful and he cannot even pronounce my last name correctly (different ethnicity). He is also 10 years younger than me. My daughter, who is 14, thinks he is very cool. They like the same music, TV shows, etc.

I guess I have reason to get scared. Please, I'd love to hear recent Los Angeles interviewees their experience..

Thanks!!

miay,

Congratulations on the interview notice!

I have the same worries as you do. My interview is has also been scheduled faster than we expected :D , so we don't have all the evidences we would like to have :(

Still, isn't it obvious that a couple cannot have all the contracts/insurances/credit cards changed within such a short time after marriage? Especially when one has no SSN...

yes, it should be obvious.. let us hope the officers who will interview us will be as understanding..
