Okay, so I know there's a group in Facebook for us somewhere. Can someone please tell me what it's called? Also, for those of you who are in that group..... do you use your real name and fb profile or do you use your vj name and a separate profile? I'm just trying to figure out the ins and outs of this. Thanks for your help!

I think I did add it to my groups and did look at it like twice, not much going on in that group. But I'm looking at my page now and it appears that I deleted that group anyway.

I just join using my 'real' profile, which im sure is not helpful in say, a vj group

I'm not quite understanding Facebook right now, let alone the groups. And just as I don't use my real name and stuff on VJ, I can't imagine using my real name and stuff with the VJ group, either. It just seems kind of odd.

I use a different name on Facebook. I have an ex husband and a psycho ex best friend who I don't want either to know anything about me. I'm not a huge fan of Facebook really, but lately I have been finding so many people I haven't seen in years- so I don't know if I want to deactivate my account yet.

Yeah, I have a bit of a concern with having my real name out there. It kinda creeps me out.

Facebook is odd!! I'm glad to see it's not just me who thinks this.

So say you add me to your friends (which you should be doing right now so we can be BBF on facebook :hehe: ) - it writes a note on your wall that - krikit and Maureen are now friends - oooo breaking news.

Anyway, it's not intuitive, it's not 'warm and friendly' - it's kind of disjointed and I don't understand why there are so many users. It's like it was something like photo bucket and someone decided to add a bunch of not-really-planned-out features to it.

Why not start an account under a ... different name - no one will be able to find you - on the downside (maybe) but at least you will be able to find people you want to and you get to send them a note when you request to add them as a friend.

While I agree Trailmix maybe it's a generational thing. My friends and I have been dealing with these social networking sites since we were 16. First it was the instant messengers, now it's social networking. Why I like it is because I have so many friends from all over that have moved different places that I can keep in touch with. I can't afford to call them. I agree though that it has gotten out of hand with all these add ons and silly features. It wasn't like that years ago.

Remember that facebook was started as a COLLEGE networking site. If you didn't attend a college, you couldn't be a part of it. I was on there at that point. You could find people in your classes to help you with yoru work, set up work groups, etc. Now it is just one, giant ####-show.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Well, that makes sense - as I thought, it was an application designed for one use that has been pieced together.

It may well be a generational thing treble, but i'm not that old  - i'm also very comfortable with the internet and applications out there - I was just saying it's odd - I stand by that. My Son doesn't even have a facebook page - he can't stand it.

In fact I might even be insulted by what you just said, if I didn't know that you are just the kind of person that says exactly what they are thinking.

I wasn't trying to offend ya, love. I have no idea how old any one is  I guess I should have chosen my words more wisely. I think what I was trying to say was people like my parents think its silly, but now I know 14 year olds who use it like their life depends on it.

I'm sorry. Can I offer you a (F)
