Hi everyone,

Kris just finished her first day medical, and they told her to come back on Monday, Oct. 13. I am disgusted about this. Her interview is on Oct. 20; that is four days after the first day.

She says everything went well, they actually seemed in a hurry all day. Has anyone else had to wait four days for the second day of medical?

It is not right for St. Luke to do this. That is another four days of motel fee for most people.

Thanks

No. She was told by the doctor she will get three shots, but that would be on second day. When she was finished, they gave her a receipt, and told her to return on Monday. I asked her if Friday is a holiday, and she said no.

if she did refuse to have the vaccine, the physician who interviewed her for the vaccine history will make a report addressed to the embassy. That's why she has to come back on Monday. i know someone who refused it and she was asked to return on next Monday.

oh well now I don't know... ^_^

She is not on her period. I just txt her again. She says it is not doctor that tells her to return on Monday, it is nurse. She says other VJ members are there also, and some return on Monday or Tuesday, but those that finished early in the day will return on Friday.

I am assuming from this, they are have a idea of how busy the clinic will be, so the try to ease the crowd.. just a guess.

I am sorry to ask...

what do you mean you paid for the IMMUNIZATION and they did not give them?

Has anyone complained to the US embassy and ST. Luke hospital?

If we let St. Luke get away with it then they will keep doing....if enough people complain and we make the US Embassy aware, they may stop.

Applicant pays for the medical exam which will include the vaccinations that is needed. Applicants do not "pay for the Immunizations/Vaccines per se" since (as far as I know), we are not asked to pay "additional fee" for the vaccines that they will be giving. Vaccine requirements will depend on the applicant's Medical History, age, and other factors... Except for the Td (which is not routinely available and will require applicant to get this upon arrival here in the US), all the rest of the vaccines can be given at SLEC.

There is a list of vaccinations included in the exam at St. Luke, I think the list is eight. However, some of them are for normal childhood illness that the applicant could have already contracted, therefor there is no need for those specific vaccinations.

Kris said the doctor told her she will receive three shots. Some of the 'shots' will include three vaccinations in one, like the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella).

The original question to others here is about waiting over the weekend for medical completion. Have any others waited?

I think its just that they are basically disorganized and they have no concern for people or there circumstances it took my wife 4 days to finishe her medical and one of those days the third day i belive was basically a wasted day because she went down there as instructed and they had her sit around for 4 hours only to tell her to return a few days later for vaccination and releasing. Thankfully she lives near Manila so it wasnt all that hard for her to do. Just very inconveinient

I believe the patients is being asked if they wanted to have the vaccine here or they have the option of getting it in the US..

I was asked that when I had my medical.. since I was working that time, I said I'll just get it in the US, cause there will be side effects of that vaccine and My job that time is very demanding.

Yeah.. it is very very crowded in SLEC this week and probably also on monday..

I believe it's the backlog. SLEC is just as disorganized as the USEM. What SLEC fails to realize that for those who came from the provinces, the extended days in Manila costs money. It's fairly ok if you live in Manila, but if you are from out of town that would entail you roughly P1000 a day just to wait for your schedule.

Hi, I had my medical last Tuesday (Oct 7) and was asked to come back yesterday (Oct 9). The reason they said was because there were a lot of people from last week who has not gotten their results and vaccines yet. Same thing with my companion who is also from VJ who came with me Tuesday and came back yesterday... We just got lucky we only have one day gap.

But she told me there's another one from VJ whom she met who were asked also to come back on Monday for the second day. Sorry guys to hear that, I think there is really a backlog because last Tuesday we arrived at 6:30AM and ended up at 6PM because there were too many people at that time.

Hang in there...

For we walk by faith, not by sight.
