So does anyone know if this effects those who met on Matchmaking sites? I guess I am lost. This seems to start off with Marriage Brokers, but it makes everyone else effected too, even if it's just a matchmaking site where people met or even if NO computer was used at all!

Can I still file using the old I-129F at this time and just wait for additional paperwork? I just want to make sure I save my place in an ever growing line. Would it help to submit a background check with the I-129F? Why can't I just sign a form so that they can just do a background check. Company's do it all the time, why can't the Immigration people do it?

Unfortunately, this affects everyone who has filed a K1 fiance petition of a K3 spousal petition after March 6. It doesn't matter how you met. If you don't want to wait, file with the old form. But know you will be waiting to get additional paperwork from the service center to provide information on your "possible criminal background". It wouldn't help if you submit a background check with the petition since they haven't said what kind of information they are going to require. Why can't Immigration do it? Because their heads are stuck up their *sses and they don't have a clue.

To answer the OP's original question:

our K-1 took 5 months flat from dropping the petition in the mail to me stepping foot in the United States.

Factors that affected our case:

--Texas was processing their own K-1 petitions, and doing it farily quickly

--We had no RFE's

--Montreal wasn't dealing with DCF at that point, so was still rolling merrily along

--IMBRA was still a gleam in someone's eye at that point.
