Hi everyone,

Ive noticed while looking at peoples timelines that packet 3 seems to usually arrive to the beneficiary not too long after the petitioner gets NOA2. My fiance has been waiting since April 6 for packet 3. Is this unusual and is the new IMBRA law something that could have affected this. If so is it possible that even I recieved a notice explaining that she would be recieving packet 3, maybe now they will not even send it?

Thanks everyone..

P.S. I notice some peoples timelines appear in each post they make. Ive filled out a timeline but it does not appear on my posts. Ill keep trying to figure it out.

From going and reading your timeline it appears you are stuck in the IMBRA ####### that is going on. Any petitions with a NOA1 receipt after March 6, 2006 has been put on hold and hasn't left to NVC. You will not be receiving packet 3 information until your petition makes it to the Argentinian consulate and that is yet to be determined as they have no clue what they are doing with the petitions yet. Sorry to be the balloon popper here.

Hmmmmm...Ok then so I should now disregard the letter that I recieved about recieving packet 3. Darn it. Ok, by the way, the 2 notice of approvals that I recieved, do they come from the Vermont Service Center which is where I sent the petitions.

Im just trying to figure out the order of where things go .

First petition is sent to Service Center, then that is sent to NVC (National Visa Center) and then that is sent toBuenos Aires where the interview will take place. Yes?

Thanks everyone..

P.S. I notice some peoples timelines appear in each post they make. Ive filled out a timeline but it does not appear on my posts. Ill keep trying to figure it out.

Did you actually ask the consulate to send packet 3 to you, or have you just been waiting for them to send it on their own? If you haven't contacted them yet and are waiting for them to send it along, e-mail them ASAP and ask for it. If I hadn't asked for packet 3 we'd still be waiting for it lol.

9/18/2006: Mailed AOS and renewal EAD applications to Chicago

10/2/2006: NOA1's for AOS and EAD applications

10/13/2006: Biometrics taken

10/14/2006: NOA -- case transferred to CSC

10/30/2006: AOS approved without interview, greencard will be sent! :)

11/04/2006: Greencard arrives in the mail! :-D

I agree with Karen. If we hadn't contacted the Consulate we'd still be waiting also. We were told they had sent it weeks previous but I received nothing. They told my fiance that I probably didn't want to come so I was lying to him and telling him it hadn't arrived when it had. Unbelievable.

Oh my Dios. Are you joking?? No I havent sent them an email or called. I didnt realize I need to, the letter that was sent to me stated that they WILL be sending it out soon, of their own accord. Wow today is Memorial Day, so everything is closed here but the consulate in Buenos Aires may not be. Man, I have to find the email address right away for the consulate in Buenos Aires. Thanks so much for the reply you may have just saved me.

By the way how do you know that if you hadnt called that you would still be waiting? Did they tell you that?

As far as I know, American Consulates are closed during American holidays, but you could try. Good luck!

I am still kinda confused....so did you receive a letter from NVC with your NVC case number? If so, you may want to update your timeline. Also, you may want to call NVC to see when they sent you packet to the embassy. They will tell you the exact date your case was sent out. It took only 1 day for my case to arrive at the embassy after NVC sent it. My fiancee went and picked it up so now we just wait for the interview!!!

I do not think you will be affected my IMBRA if your "receipt" date on your NOA1 was before March 6, 2006.

You may want to check on your NOA1 to make sure.......
