How Much Patience is Too Much Patience?

I thought to process a K-1 visa took 6 months. I applied in May 2008 to CSC. It is now October and my case has not been touched once. Is there something I can do to speed up this process? Someone mentioned to me that I could write to my senator that could help me get a response and some action on my status being that it is an election year. I'm so frustrated with this entire process. Any sound advice is welcomed. Thank you in advance.

A k-1 visa process does not take a certain amt. of time. It varies. Nothing is concrete. Nothing is guaranteed. Not sure where you heard that information, but on average, the whole process takes much longer than six months. Right now, you are on your 5th month of waiting for your NOA 2. It can take six months, it can take longer for the NOA 2. It just depends.

Also, there is nothing you can do to SPEED up the process. This question has been much debated, but what people don't understand is that if there was a way to speed up the process, EVERYONE would do it, and this it wouldn't be speeding up the process any more.

Also, you can contact your senator IF you are out of the average waiting period, which you are not.

Hey Elnady.... I feel your pain. We're May 2nd and have had one touch at the beginning of September, and still haven't heard anything. We don't have a difficult case (as far as I know, I don't see anything difficult about it!). I'm having my attorney check in, but I doubt that they'll say anything because we're "Still within current processing times," blah blah blah. But they're working on June now, cases a full month after ours. So unfair!!! Sorry I don't have any advice. But I offer my sympathy! Good luck.

Thanks for decoding my plea for a listening ear! For me, I have a difficult time with the lack of equality in our government services. I am sure if I got a response to my case less than the quoted time frame, there would be no need for me to vent my frustrations. Understand, people that filed after me (ie: July 08) are now getting their NOA2s. I feel as if someone cut in front of me without asking! I'm a practical person that likes practical solutions. Instead of cleaning the spider webs, you have to collect and rid yourself of the spiders!

I know how you feel I am in july and waiting for others to be approved so I can get my sweetie home. We have been apart for almost 1year 5 months. No money to visit as we be poor folk LOL. Aussie trips and plan tickets are not cheap.

SO we are saving our money for our wedding and out honeymoon as we want a special day.

I pray that the people that are waiting for their NOA2's that they come through soon. I recently got my noticiation in the mail yesterday saying my application was approved on the 6th of November! It happened much quicker than I imagined. I was still celebrating the win of Obama! Patience may not be a virtue to me yet keeping occupied is a must to keep from going insane with worry.
