Hi everyone!!! I have a quick question we filed for mariyas green card back in august! We already had her biometrics! My question has to do with the vaccinations. She lost her vaccination record so she had to get all of them again. USCIS on August first they made the hpv virus required, howerer in our area they were not giving it out. The Civil surgeon wrote on the vaccination form required but not given out in the area. We found a place at the time that was two hours away but we decided to send everything as is. Do we have to worry about them not approving her green card? Will they make us do all the paperwork again? Will they send us a RFE?

Thanks everyone your input is very much appreciated!

I wouldn't sweat it.

Worst case scenario they delay the GC until you make the two hour drive.

Hell, they probably don't even know about it yet at the local office if it's not offered in the area.

Ensure your beneficiary makes and brings with them to the States a copy of the DS-3025 (vaccination form)

If the government is going to force me to exercise my "right" to health care, then they better start requiring people to exercise their Right to Bear Arms. - "Where's my public option rifle?"

Slim is right  Don't worry about it, unless they RFE you. That's when you two should get into the car and make a road trip :). By the way, if they do ask for HPV shot Mariya will only need the first one, not all three, to fulfill the requirements.

I doubt missing one shot will make them deny your GC application or make you redo everything. They probably will either go by the surgeon's note or issue an RFE.

I doubt they will look at anything except to see if the civil surgeon signed it. The one we went to was sold old that when he went to administer the TB test, he sprayed the injection all over my wife's arm instead of inside it. The doctor signed it off anyway. That whole civil surgeon gig is a scam.

If you read the vaccination rules it stipulates that the CS will determine what vaccinations (if any) are required.

Good point.

Really, I'm surprised HPV is now on the list as the vaccine is still relatively new. It also doesn't make much sense to immunize against a communicable disease that one may or may not already have prior to arrival when they're on their way here for a marriage-based visa. Could it be possible they're taking steps to someday deny visas based on HPV?

I hope not, as some statistics list HPV rates as high as 60%... IN THE U.S. already! There was a study released earlier this year saying over half of sexually-active high school girls were already carriers of the virus and by the time they reached college age upwards of 80% tested positive for it.

CONDOMS PEOPLE!!!! They're not just for hanging on car antennae as a joke!

Doesn't surprise me. Females under 26 wishing to immigrate are suffering consequences of heavy lobbying financed by Merck, simple as that. It has nothing to do with HPV, cause honestly, vaccine prevents only 4 (if I'm not mistaken) most common types.

Now that makes a lot more sense. I'm still kind of surprised they got it through successfully since so many American girls already have it. It's not like having immigrants immunized is going to stop the spread of it here at home. Good job, lobbyists!

Condoms DON'T protect against HPV (or herpes). If you're not a virgin, chances are you have some kind of HPV. There are hundreds, but only a few cause warts or cancer.

The vaccine protects against 6/8 kinds of HPV that cause cancer.

I am not sure what having one out of three shots would do besides make merck money. They can't ban people with HPV from immigrating because then practically no one could. Ever had a wart anywhere? You have some kind of HPV.

They do not ban for HPV but they can refuse visas if you do not fulfill the visa requirements (including but not limited to any required vaccinations)...

YMMV
