First of all, thanks to all for the great information in these threads, they have been a tremendous blessing.

My fiance Lisbeth has been approved for her I129F visa, and now we are planning her travels here in the USA.

What we are hoping to do is to fly her to Chicago, Ill for a Weekend in the Word (with her dad), and then fly her to California to my home for our wedding.

We would plan on staying in Illinois for about a week before traveling back home to California.

1.) Is there anything special we need to know for her flight arrangements for coming here, and then state to state travels?

2.) Is it possible (and how easy is it) for her to travel domestically here in the USA before we are married?

3.) Can she do this before we are legally married, or is it best to have her fly straight to the POE nearest to me?

4.) Would it be available for us to marry in Illiinois, or do we need to marry in my state of residence?

She is getting her passport outfitted with her new visa (yay!) and we are planning these travels for the end of the month.

Thanks in advance for the support and help.

You can only enter the U.S. once on the K1 for the purpose of marrying within 90 days. However you can travel where ever you want while here, and stay in each place you visit as long as you want. You can also marry where ever you want, but you only have 90 days to marry. Congratulations on the visa approval and your upcoming wedding.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, that is correct, we are buying a one way ticket for her and she is going to live with me in the California for the duration of our lives.

We are definatley going to marry within a few days of her arrival, and then start the remaining processes for her citizenship (and new family! :) )

That is wonderful news that we can freely roam through the USA, as we have many travel dates that I suppose that we can now plan.

It is nice to know that she can travel with me using her passport/visa as her ID until we start the remaining citizenship process.

UPDATE!

We are planning to marry in Chicago (Rockford, actually  ) because of the enormous amount of believers and ministers there during the weekend.

Any forseeable problems with a filing a wedding cermony (JP) and officiation in Illinois then coming home to California?

We plan on having a ceremony in Illionois, California, and then in Venezuela.

But we would like to have it legalized ASAP, so Illinois seems to be the best for this!

I am starting to plan her AOS and if any snags can be avoided, hooray!

Also, BTW, Lisbeth brought her $400US interview fee with her but they told her to pay when she has a marraige certificate.

So, I reckon that after I sent her money, it was converted to Bolivars (to pay at the interview, per instructions), and now converted back to US?

Exchange fees are crazy in Venezuela!

Thanks again to all!

$400US interview fee? I think you misread... that fee is for an immigrant visa... The "K" visa fee is $131.

AOS application is really simple... acquire the needed evidence (basic) and submit... The hardest part is the $1,010 fee

YMMV

Hmmm... whoa.

I just re-read the site (http://caracas.usembassy.gov/?c=471) and yes, that is exactly what it says!

The $131 is for the MRV (Machine Readable Visa) fee, and no wonder they refused acceptance of the $400!!!

What they told her, though, was that once she marries, the fee will be collected.

I am awaiting the details of all this, and I shall follow up!

Thanks again!

I am all for saving money, especially fees for visas! Yay!

YMMV

I have a question guys and girls: once married can we go (NEXT DAY, RIGHT AFTER THE MARRIAGE) for honey moon to Puerto Rico or is it considered an overseas trip, an OUTSIDE the U.S. trip and my lady won't be able to enter back the U.S.? Any ideas about that issue?

Also (though VERY irrelevant to the issue we have here): once married what is the next step? I mean I know we have to proceed to the A.O.S. and I have all the forms ready to be filled but once we are done with the forms, what is the next step, plz? Anyone can help me with it? I am sorry to bother here but I am too "green" on the whole thing :( Be blessed

You can travel anywhere in the US or US territories as long as it is a direct flight from the mainland

YMMV
