Oklahoma - McCain 66, Obama 29

Correction: The title should say 'nearly' 40 points.

If the overall poll is correct they are saying Obama is going to win?.. this just isn't good.. I had my money on Nader this time

Oklahoma? Who cares? That was Johnny's to take all along. I'm more interested to see that FL and OH are now actually leaning Obama.

The Electoral College looks like a landslide to me. I love it.

Good point. I think it'll be more decisive than what the chart shows. McCain will have his ####### handed to him on November 4.

We'll hand Sarah's ####### to AJ - he'll appreciate it.

We're screwed whichever way the vote goes. Neither Mr 57 Heinz varieties States nor Uncle Fester inspires any level of confidence in the future. The polls all suck because the pollsters are using 20th Century methods, when the electorate is happy to live in the 21st or 19th Century, so they haven't a clue if they're even close to the mark. The economy is basically going to cripple the new president's ability to do anything.

And people are worried that Okies might want to vote GOP. Wow. :(

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself

That's for sure. I remember last time about now when Kerry had it all locked up and how the Socialists were already planning all the cool new Social programs. I also laughed when their cheers turned to tears.

Last time, about now?

Is it too much to ask that you spend 30 seconds googling before you make a claim like that?

Here is a CNN graphic showing Gallup numbers in 2004. Hardly 'locked up'

Dude, you know the rules. When talking to the Bushies, do not introduce fact. They have a troubled relationship with facts.

I heard that they only have queers and steers in Oklahoma; and, I just cannot imagine that many queers going with McCain!

What's fascinating about that graphic is that the red line (Bush) is on top of the blue line (Kerry) a lot more than the other way around.

And, of course, the red line won. As expected.

Now let's look at what it looks like this year.

Polls Show Kerry Win

Bush wasn’t that bad this time. But not that good either. Two polls showed a Kerry win, and another poll, with a heavily Republican sample, showed a tie.

Gallup: Kerry 52%, Bush 39%.

CBS: Kerry 39%, Bush 25%*.

ABC Kerry 42%, Bush 41%. (Sample was 38% Republican, 30% Democrat.)

Here are gonna be a few I googled and will do more later after I finish moderating a site I am on now. And thanks there were a ton showing Kerry winning before the election after googling.

If you look at the graphic I posted, Kerry did have a lead in Gallup on Oct 14.

But it's Oct 8 right now. The closest Gallup equivalent from 2004 was on Oct 9-10. In that poll, Kerry had a measly 1 pt lead.

And if you look at the whole thing, the trend was clearly Bush.
