I have been in the US since June 06 with a TN visa. The last time I renewed my visa was April 29. On September 13, I married my boyfriend (a US citizen) and I am trying to file all the paperwork for adjustment of status and have some questions I was wondering if someone who went through it before can answer.

1) On form I-130 #22 what office do I put? Do I put in the local office for my area which would be Boston or do I put where the papers are being sent which is Chicago?

2) I take it only I fill out form G-325A? There was 4 copies when I printed it out. Do I just fill out one page or all 4?

3)On form I-485 it asks for nonimmigrant visa number. What is this?

4) On part C it asks to list organizations you have been a member of. I have been a member of a professional organization a few years ago - do they want me to put this? I can't see why they would need this.

5) I filed out the advance parol form just in case I need to go to Canada. It asked for a travel date and length of time, what do I put here? I don't have a travel date, just would like the paper work incase I need to travel.

Also how long does this take?

Please READ the guides listed here....Proccess depends on your luck:

EAD: takes about 60 to 90 days, however some have waited up to 5 months

AP: takes about the same as the EAD.

GC: About 5 to 8 months. Most K-1 are approved after 3 months without interview.

Once AGAIN please READ the GUIDES, they are pretty clear.

Don't let the choices chose you, chose the choices that you want.

1. Local office Boston

2. You have to fill out all 4.

3. TN Visa number

4. When they ask for it, you cannot say why they need it, they just do

5. You can put a tentative date that you have in your mind, maybe by the end of the year for 15 days etc. It does not mean that you cannot go later or earlier than that. AP is valid for a year.

BTW the visa number is near the bottom of your visa- printed in red ink, not the long control number at the top. Just thought I'd point that out since I got it wrong before and put the control number instead on a different form

You received answers to your other questions, but for this... you need to only fill out the first page, the other 3 will fill in automatically by Adobe Acrobat.

Well, unless the OP printed out a blank form, then they need to fill in all four copies...or go back and complete it online and THEN print!

You must print all 4 pages. (Note: you can't print 1 page and make 4 copies, all the pages have their own page numbers)

But you only need to fill out the first page, and the other 3 will automatically be filled in with the info from page 1 by Adobe Acrobat.

Thanks for the replies. I did print out all the forms blank, so I guess I'll go back and fill out G325A on the computer instead.

Also I read that my husband who is the sponsor has to fill out all 4 pages, I don't understand how since all the questions ask about the applicant only.

I don't have an alien registration #, do I just leave that blank?

Also I don't have any red ink on my TN card. On the bottom it has 8 numbers then US-VISIT this is all in black ink. Is the 8 digit number the visa number?

For the I-130 the USC is the petitioner.... Where applicable, when your USC husband fills out the G-325a the words applicant/petitioner can be used interchangeably.

Regardless of who the bigraphic data is about.. the G-325A is a four-part form

If you do not have something that is requested then "none" is not an inappropriate response (as a practical matter do not leave any spaces BLANK, use "None", "Unknown" and to a lesser extent "N/A" where appropriate).

YMMV
