Hi all! I recently recieved NOA2 for my I-129F which requested 30-day recent passport-style photos. It talked about the passport-style photos that I already sent for my I-129F and I-130 petitions but at the top it of the paper it said that it was for the I-129F petition. I called the USCIS twice about this and they said that I should also be receiving a NOA2 for my I-130 asking for photos also. I never recieved this NOA2 for my I-130 and they said that I would have to wait 15 days before they would do anything about my missing I-130 NOA2. Well, during that time I sent the photos for my I-129F petition. Later when I checked the case status online, it showed that my photos were received and case processing had resumed. This status was showing online for both my I-129F and I-130. Should I be concerned that I never recieved the NOA2 for my I-130? I am assuming that because it shows that case processing has resumed for both petitions, this is not important. Has this happened to anyone else?

You received an RFE, not what is commonly called an NOA2 here which is an approval. If they needed photos for the I130, you would have received an RFE for it.

I was told by USCIS that if I filed the I-129F this would expedite the process for the I-130 which it as far as I can this has bumped us up a couple of months. But as far as other special expedited services go...No. I have not used a lawyer or written my congress man. I know that the addresses for the USCIS changed during the month of March and that has delayed the process for some because the petitions were mailed to the old address but this is all that I know. Write me back about your process!

Alli and Leo - I sent my application a day before you and have the NOA1 date of March 12...so far, it's been nothing but inaction from VSC. Your RFE, as dreaded as that can be, provides hope to me. When were your applications touched prior to RFE?

Well I hope you will forgive me but I am a little uncertain what everyone means by "touched". All I know is that the only papers recieved since the NOA1 was the RFE for the I-129F. I periodically made phone calls and a little more than a month before I recieved the RFE I sent passport-style photos for my I-130 with a copy of the receipt. I am not certain if that is why I received the RFE. Sorry...I'm a little inexperienced so I don't know if this answers your question.

Well...the USCIS just called me back. Looks like I only needed the one RFE for both of my petitions. This has been verified. At the top the RFE it stated that it was sent for the I-129F but in the middle it also referenced both petition numbers for the I-129F and the I-130. The Vermont Service Center said that they sent the one RFE for both petitions. Looks good to me!

Thank you, very useful to know that: it is a good sign they are processing your case!

As to me, very simple: NO PROGRESS like most people that got 05/07 - 05/08 touches!!!

Alli, what Vasani is asking is this:

are you registered on USCIS website? If so (you simply register with your receipt number), you will see the last time your record has been changed/accessed.
