I was reading what was needed at the Citizenship Interview, it mentioned, green card, DMV ID, passport along with paperwork IRS transcripts, marriage documents, proof that you have been living together for 3 years, etc. Almost the same paperwork that was required when you sent in the N-400 application package, is this true, does anyone know what is required?

Look at it this way. Bring everything possible. If they don't ask for it, then so what? But if you don't bring something they want, then you're out of luck. Seems like a pretty easy decision process to me.

Why anyone would not, at a minimum, bring a complete copy of the materials sent in the N-400 package, including originals of all documents, is simply beyond me. It just seems so obvious.

Personally, we'll be bringing copies and originals of every document we have ever sent to USCIS. It's so easy to do - it's a no brainer.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

It is a good idea to have the originals with you, just in case the officer wants to confirm the copies that you sent in with the petition.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

On two previous visits to our nearest field office, brought everything, the interviewers didn't want to see it and accepted that our copies were all valid. Wasn't going to bother bringing all that stuff again, but chickened out at the last moment. That officer wanted to see everything and would have rejected my wife if we didn't bring it.

So how do you know this in advance? Simple, you don't know and prepare for the worse, even brought spare passport photos, they have been known to lose those as well.

this is exactly what i did - i brought every single thing i ever gave USCIS (from k1 visa to n400). i am so glad i did....a lady before me didn't have anything with her, and when she came out of the interview she was disappointed and looked for something in her purse.

yup i brought extra passport photos too....and because they didn't need it, i used it for my passport application! better safe than sorry!!
