And one wonders why they never actually get the black vote..

Er... do we really want the people facing outstanding arrest warrants to go to the polls and vote?

i'm not too bothered about people who have unpaid traffic tickets, are you?

No, but I'm bothered about dumb voters who think they can be arrested for unpaid traffic tickets.

everyone has the right to vote! even stupid people. ;)

Ok, I changed my mind, I'm not too bothered about them.

hehe

i am a concerned about those with warrants out for their arrest but that is a matter for the police and doesn't have a place in politics imo.

Gotta sympathize with the GOP a little. If you're only fighting for the rich and powerful (of which there are few), you gotta cheat a little to make it in election times when the many get to vote. Some you can distract with smoke and mirrors, others you just gotta keep away from the polls.

From NPR:

Zach Stalberg, the president of the nonpartisan watchdog group Committee of Seventy, suggests that a Republican Party supporter may have posted the fliers in an effort discourage voters.

A native Philadelphian, Stalberg was the editor of the Philadelphia Daily News for 20 years.

So someone suggests that a Republican Party supporter may have posted the fliers and automatically it is taken as gospel that the GOP is behind this. I note that there is not one shred of evidence to support this suggestion. And Stalberg, his watchdog group may be nonpartisan, but is he?

There's a lot of funny things going on with Republicans.

I overheard this conversation going on NPR from people in Philadelphia, and other areas of the country, notably college campus areas.

It's a common Republican trick to try and confuse people, like post sh!t up on poles around neighborhoods saying if someone has a warrant or anything else they'll be arrested at the polls. Also, it's common for Republicans to send unscrupulous messages to college students about their address scaring them out of voting, suggesting that their college address isn't sufficient enough to vote in that district and they can't vote. This is patently false, as one's place of resident can be their college, if they deem it so.

Of course, college students also tend to vote Democrat, as well as the minority-laden areas Republicans are trying to disenfranchise. It's rather unnerving that there are ####### who want to take away the right of others to vote and are specifically searching for any technicality to try and disenfranchise one of the most fundamental rights in this country.

of course they did. it's just like in 2000 when they prevented lots of legal voters from voting because their name "looked" like a felons name or they have "similar" birthdays. the republicans never change.

They had the same SSN too? I doubt you've voted in this country before because there's usually poll watchers from representatives from both parties at polls. Translation- Democrats are deaf and blind at polling places or don't report violations by the GOP. Even I don't believe that for a minute.

Democrats are usually the ones who want loose election day laws to encourage ballot box stuffing . . .I mean to increase turnout. Check out ACORN and lawsuits against voter ID to see how to help sway an election.

EXACTLY!!! EVERYTHING we're reading or seeing now by the media has a TWIST on it!!! Its tainted & not completely accurate.....OR BETTER STATED...ALWAYS preferential or "leaning" towards 1 "chosen" party! And, I think we know who that is!!!

Any college student dumb enough to get their election info from a flyer on a telephone pole shouldn't bother voting. So registering in multiple precincts doesn't bother you in the slightest? If college students are liberal why vote in a place where your vote will have less impact?

I more worried about people like yourself ignoring election fraud before the election but screaming bloody murder after the election if the votes go the "wrong way".

Well, if its before elections, we assume that those raising the proper challenges are doing so with making sure the intended targets register to vote properly in their correct voting locations, right?

Not.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

What do you expect? Dumbasses need some rationale to hate Obama. May as well be because of his goddamn name. I'm sure while he was in his mother's womb he was plotting to secretly have his middle name Hussein. The water didn't break. He blew it up.
