Hi,

I'm filling out the I-765 form and I'm not sure what box to check regarding what I am applying for. I'm currently here as a F-1 student working under OPT - do I check the box saying "permission to accept employment" or "renewal of permission to accept employment" ???

Thanks for any help!

AOS:

11/07/2008: Filled AOS @ Chicago Lock box

11/11/2008: Received @ Lockbox

11/18/2008: NOA for I-130, I-485, I-765

12/08/2008: Biomtrics appointment

are you renewing your old EAD or are you filing for a new one based on an I-485 application?
Good question, The OP lacks profile details like Filed for: AOS, simply has N/A, so it is unknown what they are doing, also has NO timeline to give us a clue.

Please fill in profile details: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...rCP&CODE=01

The timeline and profile details really help answer your questions.

I'm applying for a new work permit based on the I-485 but since I already have one, limited but it's still a work permit, I'm not sure what to put down. I guess I should go with new?

Sorry, no time line, I haven't filed yet. Right now we are in the process of filling out all the papers and hopefully they should be sent off on Nov. 3rd since we have to get married first (Oct. 31).
