Marilyn Manson is actually a very intelligent guy - the image that he projects in his act is very different to the man beneath, and his views on a lot of issues are rather more well informed than the likes of Ted Nugent - who seems to be of the opinion that almost any problem can be solved by having a bigger gun than the other guy. He's a dickhead.

Well, good point about hitting a deer with your truck. But I wasn't talking about hunting. I was referring more to his philantropical efforts.

Yah, Ted Nugent is past his prime as someone young people cared about, but it is a good message. I don't think much of Ted Nugent in particular, just seemed a good time to mention that he really isn't someone we need to fear, which the article tries to do. To me its comical to think of Ted Nugent as a threat. We are all entitled to our opinions though.

Any loudmouthed bozo with an inflated sense of self-importance and an unrealistically high idea of the worth of his own opinions is a threat. This is the price we pay for freedom of speech.

It's a price worth paying, I agree. But that doesn't mean some idiot who wants to drop nukes in the Middle East isn't dangerous. I presume no-one would be silly enough to award him political office. But then, I thought the same about Mr Bush.

Indeed - although I'm half expecting the accusations of liberal media to come in. Regardless of any 'good works' he might do, people should realise that celebrities are always going to be judged by their comments. A few good works here or there shouldn't soften anyone's opinion of the guy when he spouts out rubbish like this.

I really don't believe that given that much responsibility he would really nuke everyone who looked at him funny. He is all about the attention.

It is nice to hear you would not vote him into office, from my view. But, while at the same time we shouldn't lift celebraties to hero status, we shouldn't be so critical of every move or silly thing that comes out of their mouth. We should reserve that for our civil servants!

Well, I don't know what his chances are, but the article does state that his intention is to run for public office.

Still, you are fundamentally right - it probably isn't too big a deal. But he expressed his opinion, and I believe I'm entitled to respond to it. Rightly or wrongly, more people will pay attention to Ted Nugent than to antone from VJ.

I have been a Ted Nugent fan since High School and he's been saying stuff like that as long as I can remember. Basically if you don't like him or what he does you can kiss his @ss and that's pretty much the way I live my life as well. If I lived in Michigan he'd have my vote.

On the other hand, why only post the controversal or negative aspects of a person? Ted Nugent has done more for conservation and ecology then probobly every member on this board combined. He is also a strong advocate against drugs and has given that message to many youths in this country. He never 'used' drugs, at least according to him. Why not post an article that shows this side of Terrible Ted ?

He still has quite a following here in San Antonio (the unlikely Heavy Metal Capital of the world.) He was performing at a concert here just a few years ago, and between songs he was making speeches about how "this was America" so people ought to "speak American."

As the audience in attendance at this particular event was about 85 % Hispanic (Mexican American) and overwhelmingly Spanish-speaking, one might expect a negative response. However, they were raising their fists in the air and flicking their lighters, yelling "Hell yeah... rock and roll."

Funny right after this I turn on the TV and VH1 has a reality show called Super Group and Terrible Ted is one of the musicians on the show. Will be on again next Sunday at 10:00 p.m. and I will be sure to watch.

Has Ted on guitar and Scott (forget last name) from Anthrax on other guitar, Sebasten Bach from Skid Row singing, some guy I never heard of on bass and Jason Bonham on drums.

One of the parts of the show they have some women come in to help with their stage image and she is showing ideas of far out dorky clothes and she asks Ted if he would dye his hair black. In normal Ted fashion he says "No, but I'll wash it and you should be thankful for that."
