K1 interview in work or home country?

Hi.. I just became a US citizen and Im planning to apply a K-1 Visa for my fiancee who is a Filipino citizen but she's currently working in Saudi Arabia.

I would like to ask if her visa process should be forwarded to the US consulate in Saudi or in the Philippines. I know she has to receive and fill out the packets from the consulate, do a medical checkup, and do the interview. So it would be convenient if she can do that in Saudi Arabia but I want to know if that's even possible or is it better to do those in the Philippines although that will involve travelling back and forth.

Thanks for any help!

I'm not sure but I assumed that the selection of embassy for an interview depends on the address you put in on G-325A and I-129 forms. If she puts the one she is currently residing at, then I'd imagine there is a possibility the interview would be in that country. At least I hope that's the case. There are plenty of us out there who don’t live in the country of their birth any longer so to assume if we are to be called for an interview there, it would cause inconvenience to so many people. Although, inconvenience seems to be a synonym for this visa process ;).

Hope you'll get an definite answer from somebody who is more clued in. Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

All the best on your visa journey.

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: South Korea
Timeline

This is from New Zeeland, but most Embassy websites seems to say the same thing:

Can a third country national (not a permanent resident of New Zealand) apply for an immigrant visa in New Zealand?

In some cases. First, that person must show that they have permission from the New Zealand Immigration Service to remain in New Zealand for 6 months or longer. Depending on the immigrant visa category involved, it is possible that we would accept that person's immigrant visa application. In general, however, the person must have some ties to New Zealand; that is, some reason for being here beyond applying for the visa.

I am origionally from South Africa, but will be filing in Korea since this is where I have been working and living for almost 7 years.

Hope that helps.

Beni
