I can't fool myself into thinking McCain cares about 'the American people', not really. He doesn't sound sincere. Barack lacks a certain enthusiasm for the challenge, but I can at least fool myself into thinking that he cares, even if it's only on an intellectual level.

Again I only listened and again these two are both the same. Let me guess what we will get with either candidates. Larger Government, nore taxes, greater deficits, more war, etc.

I don't think they are clueless, I think they are desparate, and the more desparate they get to turn the decline around, the worse they make it. This election is not going to be that close.

Obama is a better speaker, he looks more relaxed in the limelight. Whether this will make him a better President remains to be seen. We will know shortly.

As I said - I was just surprised that someone with massive experience in government, experience that is being sold as the advantage over his competitor - just didn't have much to say other than smearing his opponent (which he did far more than Obama did) and trying to pump people up with patriotic rhetoric.

Shouldn't he have some concrete suggestions for *fixing* Washington? Shouldn't he be pushing his policies down Obama's throat?

I'm sorry - but I thought he put in a very disappointing performance.

oh dear, people should tell McCain that statements like the below make him seem hopelessly out of date.

I'll get him no matter what and I know how to do it. But I'm not going to telegraph my punches, which is what Sen. Obama did.

I listened to some of it on the drive home. Man, either we need to really check into this "advanced" education they get, or they really do think people they're trying to get votes from have an extraordinarily low intelligence.

The parts I did hear was excruciating. From both candidates it sounds like a goddamn rehashing of their retarded stump speeches they parrot, ad nauseam, on the campaign trail. Obama couldn't even friggen answer about Pakistan and their sovereignty until the end, after like a minute and a half of babbling about McCain, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Then he spent the last, what, 5 seconds actually answering the question asked? Why do they even bother with time limits? Just give them like 5-10 seconds to respond and get on with more questions. This pathetic debate only perpetuates the notion that they barely need to give any effort out to voters since these two parties have said voters caged into the two party system.

Well for one you can't get anything out in 5-10 seconds that means anything. Number two you could tell McCain wanted to get dirty & I don't fault Obama for standing up for himself (if he doesn't people assume the allegation is true).

Each camp will insist their candidate won, but from my perspective I felt Obama answered the questions more effectively & largely diffused McCain's attempt to smear him.

After listening to the debate last night I decided to donate more to OBAMA's campaign but with the stipulation that the money be applied to Palin's medical MENTAL care froma qualified USCIS physcian!
