No disagreement there - I'm just surprised that someone who has referred to his campaign as the Straight Talk Express, didn't really have any Straight Talk to offer people.

I had to laugh at his response to the question about "how do we juggle healthcare, social security, medicaid etc" - and he said how its unamerican to not do them all at once. Seriously - why didn't he just be honest and say we're going to have to prioritise?

I was not impressed with his make this a root for America issue.

Flag pins, for example, don't mean #### to me. I want results. This is what America has been missing for years now. Out of the two, Obama gets this.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

He may have been trying to one-up Obama but it came across as very weak. What's wrong with giving people the harsh, meathook realities?

His tactic was to make it sound like Obama's plan wouldnt work, whereas with his plan we tackle all the issues straightaway, which anyone with half a brain knows wont work. I just found his lack of sincerity bothersome, not sure who scares me more, McCain or Palin.

I found it bizarre because his arguments basically came down to pumping people up with patriotic rhetoric about "The American Way".

That's all very nice and all - but chestbeating doesn't fix the economy.

Agreed. All BS.

Obama sounds much more credible and in the 21st Century.
