salam all

im here in the us elhamdlelah its beautiful place , although im missing egypt terribly , but my wife makes me feel im at home.

so my question is , i have been here since three weeks on cr1 visa , i came in through newyork , jfk port, but till now i have not receive my greencard .

i have passed the test for a driver license , but when i went to get the card they requested the social security number , which i requested in my visa process.

1-howlong before you usually receive the green card in the mail , after arrival?

2- am i able to work with my cr1 visa stamp in my passport?

3-any adivse will be appreciated of what to do to invest my free time , or if there is anything i can do regarding work ,ssn , or driving license or greencard/

thank you in advance

You need your SS number/card before you can work. I would go down to the SS office and apply for one just in case. Also they might be able to see in their system if one has been issued to you already!... Good Luck
