my hubby is mailing his vote in.. can't that be done everywhere??

not everywhere

Stupid one on behalf of your bosses though, no worker is indispensible, period.

If a system goes down and I'm on-site and I know the passwords - then I fix it.

Again, if you haven't worked operationally, you wouldn't have a clue.

Sheesh, you can't get the job done and vote? Clearly, you American workers think you are better than you are :)

Well, this is why when I didn't have the option to mail in my ballot, I tried to go in before work. SLA penalties are much more lenient before business opens on the east coast. But 5pm-9pm is still the business day on the left coast (damn you, california!) and maintaining systems availability is vital.

It's not about 'American workers'. It's production support culture - worldwide. Our Sao Paulo data center was fully staffed during the World Cup, culture be damned ;)

It would be funny if Ralph Nader wins this election.

McCain is too old and his vice president pick is too hokey and clueless. God forbid that if McCain wins and something were to happen to him then she gets to run the country? Oh boy, what a scary thought. My family are going to be immigrating to Canada!

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
