Thanks for the info, I have been emailing the Kingston embassy for an appointment date to drop off the Ds230 but I keep getting that automated response. I am not even sure if they received our file it was sent last week and the 603# is not providing me with any information on the delivery. So I'll try that # and see what happens.

Make sure you put 2nd inquiry in your re line as well as your case #.

Yeah, I did that but I am still getting the automated reply.

Angel,

Where does your SO live? Just wait for a reply, sometimes it takes a week, but they will answer you. NVC won't have any delivery information, but they can give you the KINGSTON number. Do you have that information? If so, did you include that in the e-mail to the embassy?

He lives in Kingston about 10 minutes from the embassy.... But I just realized that I was emailing

Kingston, IVinfo [kingstonivinfo@state.gov], instead of Consularkingst [consularkingst@state.gov]. So I just got a reply that they will get back to me within 5 business days. You think I would have all this straight by now after being on this site.

You dont want to email the consular. That is for US citizens living in JA. You want to email the kingstonivinfo address for updates on the visa.

Shaunsgal, you and I are on a very similar timeline. They took forever with our cases at the California service center! Anyway they have received and entered our ds230 last week, and now they have sent me an email saying that there are no interview dates available, but I am hoping that I will hear about an interview date in the next couple of weeks. I hope your date comes soon too!

I hope so too. I am tired of postponing my wedding date. I have moved it from August to every month thereafter. I will be happy if it happens this year. I applied in Feb. and was very naive in thinking everything will be done by now. Anyway, hang in there? I will update you if I get an interview date. Are you thinking of going for the interview or will you let your fiance go alone. I am still deciding.

I am going to go if I can (I am due to give birth to our son Jan 5th and can only fly until Dec 7th) and if I were you I would try to go if you can. I have read on here of them not approving visas and asking for further proof of relationship when the fiance is not present. Better safe than sorry...

Congratulations young lady! Are you working or able to stay at home and await your son's arrival. Unfortunately, I am unable to have any more children, so I live vicariously through everyone's pregnancy. LOL By the way, I think I will try and make it to the interview, but my main concern is to be able to fly back with him. He is more nervous about the hassle with flying, customs, etc. than by the interview. We will see.

I am working as a bar manager but am out right now because of chicken pox (horibble! I am so itchy and uncomfortable). I know what you are saying about wanting to fly back with him...my SO has never left Jamaica and not only will it be a harrowing experience for him to go through immigration and customs and flight changes alone, but I really want to have the experience with him. Well, I had to choose one or the other (if I even get the interview date in time!) and I decided that getting him the visa without any problems was the most important thing.

If only they would give it to him at the time of the interview!

Anyway, good luck. I hope you can both go to the interview AND fly back with him.

You have chicken pox in your last trimester? I had chicken pox in my 2nd trimester with my daughter. It was horrible. They sent me to a neo-natal infectious disease specialist who walked in so draped in protective gear it scared the crud out of me. Then, she proceeded to tell me how Molly could be born with club feet cause of the pox. I freaked out for months. Turned out, there are no lasting issues. But, at the time, I was freaking out.

My 3 year old son then caught them from me.

Hang in there.

Any forum that you touch, you just got to derail. Who care bout your chicken pox and pregnancy thing. Erase the garbage and carry it to the Yardie thread. Show discipline for once.

Hi Everyone, My fiance finally received an appointment via email and went to the Embassy in Kingston today to pick up packet 4. Originally it was supposed to be for Packet 3, since they said they mailed it on 9/9 and we never received it. Anyway, they just handed him the packet and did not have an interview date yet scheduled. I am at my wit's end.

For IslandAngel, someone suggested that I overnite the DS230 to the embassy on Friday and I did just that ( I printed it off line and sent it to my fiance). Anyway he sent it through Air Pak for $568 Jamaican. and they received it the same day. Try doing the same. Good Luck and let us know of any breakthrough.

I am afraid we both have to wait a little while for them to actually set the interview date. Once they do you can find out what it is from the DOS before even receiving packet four. The status on my case right now is that my fiance is eligible for an interview date, but there are none yet available. Just have to sit around and wait...But I think I am going to try to email the embassy again tomorrow...

Thanks Acrow, how is your fiance handling the wait? I have to admit I am very restless and a "go-getter" while my fiance is very laid back and positive-thinking. I am not handling the wait very well and keep blaming him for not doing enough. I am sure he is seeing a side of me that I was hoping he will see when we are in our 90s. LOL. Any advice?

My fiance is laid back and positive thinking too, he is ready, but he just knows that it will all work out in the end. He calms me down. I thought this whole process would be done by now too...I am desperate for him to be here before the baby comes. It is my first child, and I need help!

By the way. The Kingston website said that you cannot go for the medical exam without a letter with the interview date. How are you guys handling that aspect of it if you do not have the letter. That is my dilemma.

LOL, Shaunsgal, I think all of us have experienced that at one time or another! The reality is, your fiance needs to see all sides of you - it makes for a stronger relationship.

This process is a HUGE lesson in patience for all of us that are used to getting things done immediately - You just have to hang in there, voice your frustrations, and try to think positive - good things will come. That is why the Yardie thread is such an invaluable source - at any given time, day or night, there is someone here who can relate to what you are feeling, sympathize, curse with you, cry with you, laugh with you, whatever you need.

I plan on making the appointment for him as soon as i hear from the DOS that the interview date is set, and I am going to count on packet four reaching him in time for the actual appointment. In the mean time I am going to have him get the immunizations he needs from the clinic in MoBay as it will be cheaper or maybe even free. i told him to check with his elementary school for his records, but he said that as it is far away and hard to get to he would just rather get the shots again.

I'm confused. Are you guys waiting for an interview date, or a date to drop off your DS230, or a date of when the DS-230 was logged as receieved?

You should check out the yardies with case complete thread, so that you can get a better idea of how long this all takes: Click here

My ds230 has been received and logged, so I am just waiting for the interview date. All we have left is to wait for the embassy to set the date and send my fiance packet four. I will check out that thread, though. I kinda ignored it because I thought it was just for cr1 filers...
