Just want to clarify a few things.

My girlfriend and I want to get married. She is a US citizen and I am a canadian currently working in the US on a TN visa.

From what i've read here and other places. This is the order of things we need to do.

1: Get married in the US at a justice of the peace and do not travel until i get a green card. (have a ceremonial wedding at a later time)

2: Immediately file for a I-130/I-485/I-131(ap)/I-765(EAD) all at the same time. (Are there any im missing?)

My TN visa will still be valid, but i must migrate to the EAD (which could take a few months).

- Once the EAD is approved and returned this allows me continue to work legally? correct?

- Does and EAD have the same stipulations as a TN visa allowing me to only work for one company or else i have to re-file again if i change jobs?

- Once my AP is returned, this allows me to travel freely again?

- After filing all of these forms, what visa am i actually applying for. is it a K-1? K-3? or something else.

According to this link

It says i'm also required to fill out forms G-325a and I-864, am i looking in the right place?

Thanks for the help.

1) Yes

2) No, you can work for any US employer

3) Yes

4) Neither, based on your situation you are not applying for a visa but adjusting your status directly to permanent resident

5) Yes, the added forms are information that is submitted as a part of the I-130 and/or the I-485
