Yes, it does have drippings, no prob for gravy. It's basically just the turkey without the bones etc - which I reallllly don't like to be bothered with.

On the other hand, I do like to make a 'real' turkey from time to time.

we do a boneless turkey ####### for Canadian Thanksgiving :)

This will be my first year just doing the #######.

My husband says a whole turkey is a waste, but it isn't. Turkey soup, turkey pie, turkey sandwiches. The possibilities are endless!

my mom thinks it is a waste too.. :P so lately she just does a few turkey legs and a few turkey breasts :P

Sigh.... I'm going to be stuck here all by myself for Thanksgiving. Even Dad will be gone. He's headed to Montreal with his fiancee for the long weekend. Bermuda's National Hero's Day coincides with Canadian Thanksgiving. Bermuda doesn't have Thanksgiving at all. :(

I miss Ontario....and Georgia.

We are! Dennis and I started talking about doing a small Thanksgiving dinner...it quickly grew into a big dinner at my mom's house with 12 people (we have another friend who grew up in Canada, so we invited him and his family) and my mom keeps upping the guest list. Dennis was so sweet...he told me this morning "I really appreciate that you and your mom are doing this for me...but I know how much work it is, so you don't have to do it every year. It's different this year because I just moved."

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.

I'm going home to my mum and dad's! I leave friday night. Just thinking oh my mum's turkey feast will probably make me salivate. There is nothing better than a big turkey and stuffing. I just only saw them on labour day weekend but I'm looking forward to this one because I am not driving up for once!

I got my flight for 275 bucks! For the last few years I have not flown back and forth much because it was in the $500+ range. I was so excited about the price.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

John and I will be doing Turkey day on Sunday.

I did a turkey breast last year, but the stuffing just didn't turn out so good (was too wet from the drippings) so we'll have a small fresh turkey.

John's all excited about this 'new' holiday with an extra day of turkey.

I guess he would be...he gets to sit on the couch and watch football / nascar while I slave away in the kitchen!

Like a juice box of wine??

I was reminded of that episode of Seinfeld when Jerry is dating some chick with an amazing toy collection. She won't let him play with it sooooo....he brings over a huge turkey, gravy and a big box of wine so she passed out and he can play! :)

I'm making the traditional Thanksgiving dinner that I watched my mom do for many years. I still use her recipe for the stuffing, make mashed potatoes and mashed turnip. If they are really lucky, I'll make an apply pie for dessert. We're having our dinner on Monday.

It's going to feel strange not having my family around for the afternoon / evening.
