Oh good! this means in 1-3 weeks you will have your visa! The consul has your paper and it's under review. See we were on the same batch.

ako din ganyan attitude ko now, enjoy time with family and enjoy the privileges we have here, korek ka dyan--the maids, lutong bahay, spa, salon, friends family here...ako, i spent time with my nieces in different amusement parks, etc., arranged for my insurances, bank arrangements, my condo and other bills that will still go on even im away...

i used to be an executive in one of the multinational pharma companies here but my husband requested me to rest for now because he knew im so into my work and couldn't leave it so, he got scared that when the visa arrives, i'd tell him that i have to finish my commitments pa kasi i've done that to him before in some other instances (he even told me that i value my work commitments but it seemed like i value less my commitment to him)...plus, he thought that visa will be in as soon as the interview's over coz that's what his dad told him (naku naman, yung info ng dad niya eh sometime more than 10 years ago when his dad petitioned for his stepmom)...my inlaws were already emailing me regularly because they couldn't believe that my visa isn't in my hands yet, medyo nagdududa kasi naman si hubby sinabi nya na halfhearted ako sa pagalis so akala nila tinatago ko lang sa kanila yung visa...and i had to explain about the DV and all...

my family here already decided that they'd be celebrating thanksgiving and christmas in the US, so mukhang ako pa na may asawang US citizen ang maiiwan...so ironic noh? napamili ko na nga lahat ng bilin ng ate ko na nasa LA, in short, nagawa ko na din naman lahat....

this is really a tough time for all of us, testing stage ika nga, i just believe that everything happens in HIS time and that's the perfect time....

let's hope we hear from the embassy this week...keep us posted...

My fiancee called the embassy today and he spoke to Grace. No developmet on our case...its still pending. DV is not there yet. Two weeks ago, when my fiancee called, we were given the date of OCTOBER 9th for any news or development. And now they told us that it might take.... UP TO TWO MONTHS from now on. Aren't we just so lucky that its this time wherein there are new sets of consuls. Their real problem now is the backlogs they have....6,000 applicants waiting for their papers to be resolved....and only few agents to look at them. Looks like it won't be a merry Christmas for me and my fiancee...

I was so depressed this morning after hearing this update BUT I got over it as of this time. Pretty fast huh? I think I only have two choices right now...to be negative or positive about it. And I chose to be the latter. From now on, I will focus on the things I should do before taking the plunge... I will focus on spending as much time with my family and friends here, saving money and taking care of the things that will help my marriage and my life in the US easier. Remember, its recession in the US and I should be thankful that Im doing great here in Philippines. When I get there, I will lose some privileges that I enjoy here....credit cards, vacation trips, maids, drivers, secretary etc etc.... My fiancee is with me in this one...he will focus on his work, preparing the apartment and on being a better man for me. Gotta be really busy so there will be no time to get depressed.

We really can't do anything right now but to wait and also make follow ups. Guys, I know its hard but its also only us who can help ourselves. Let's be strong about this. Did you all notice that Philippine forum is so quiet? Like almost all posts are all about feeling bad because of waiting for visa. Unlike before, all you see is "VISA IN HAND". This too shall pass... (right PW?)

did u try calling the embassy today? kasi ako i did, but i landed on automatic voice messaging nga when i dialed Grce and Lorraine's local...call the embassy call center daw...

thanks for sharing us your story. i had a nice time reading it. maybe you should show this list to your in-laws so they will believe you ? They will realize there are 23 more people waiting too, not to mention those who are not a VJ member.

well i have to admit since my interview I have been stalking other VJ's progress .lol. when the posts of complaints came up one after the other, I realized why not use my OC-ness (obssessive-compulsiveness) for everyone's benefit? I will find fulfillment once everyone here have their visa.

My fiance will call the embassy tom or on thursday. How about you try to call again tom? Dial 8 for operator instead and ask to be transferred to Immigrant Visa Unit, it might work.

My family will go to US this Christmas too for our civil wedding. They will have their visa interview in Canada (they are immigrants there) this Oct 28. They might have their US visa before I do! :wacko:
