Rain rain rain! At last!

It's been dry here in southern TX for far too long. Yesterday I was contemplating getting the soaker hoses and the sprinkler out, but that won't be necessary now.

Since +/- 8this morning we've been having thunderstorms and a continuous downpour.

Our yard is soaked and the ditch in front is filled to the top.

There's a flashflood warning in ours and surrounding counties.

No risk of flooding in our area as we're at an elevation away from the nearby main road.

I'll post some piccies of our "Venice in Texas" later on

Wish it would make it over here to NM ... we tried to go for a hike yesterday and got 1/4 of the way up the trail to find the rest of it blocked off due to fire hazard. I was actually thinking of putting our canoe in there, but that thing is kinda heavy and Kathleen her dodgy shoulder needs to avoid tension.

stormed here all night too. Started out really slow, and then gradually built up so much that I had to unplug the PC....woke Corey and I up on and off all night, thunder so loud it was shaking the house and lightening bolts that seemed to stretch across the entire sky, and spike off to go halfway down too! Been a while since we've had one of those..>I enjoyed it! I"m just glad nothing got fried, and tired today..

Glad you finally got some rain Silvy...the peeps in chat were saying last night that FL/GA really needs it too, so hope they get it soon...

As for the smiley pic.....That one wasnt hard as it only had 4 frames in the animation and each had to be set with the background. More intricate smileys would take a lot more time and effort. But now that I have done one I will try others. I found it fun. Heres one I found on the internet which gave me the idea. I love this guys work.
