Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this. My husband and I went in for our interview to remove conditions about a month ago. The officer said that we were approved and that he should get his new GC in about two weeks. We asked him if this was for sure b/c we were going to Mexico for a friend's wedding in about a month. He said for sure in about two weeks. We asked what if we did not receive it in time...he told us to come back to get a temporary card if we did not get it. He then took my husband's expired green card. Well, needless to say it has been about three weeks now and we have not received the new green card and we are suppose to leave for Mexico this Friday.

I'm assuming that I am SOL and will have to cancel trip to best friend's wedding in Mexico. Went to the INS office today and the very rude person told me to make an appt on infopass and there was nothing I could do w/o the appt. Of course, there are no appts available on infopass. My husband won't be able to come back to the states from Mexico w/ just the NOA1 w/o his expired GC correct?

Any help would be grateful.

Note: Your profile still indicates K-1, yet you have removed conditions, you may want tou update that: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...rCP&CODE=01

Did you get an I-551 stamp? If not, you may want to schedule an info pass appointment and explain that you are planning a trip and need I-551 to re-enter the USA.

Yes you are wrong! He can not get a US passport he is not a US citizen. he will need either a Valid Greencard or a I-551 stamp in his foreign passport.
