I had my medical exam on August 20th. The last MD who checked on me didn't want me to have my vaccines since she cannot accurately tell whether i am pregnant or not because of the fact that my husband just left the Philippines on August 13th so, it's just been a week and even if I take the pregnancy test, results wouldn't be accurate. Though, I told her I was on contraception the whole time my hubby was here and that I have my period that day she told me that she cannot compromise.

Since I am applying for a K3 visa, I have the option to take all my vaccination requirements in the US. So, after all the tests were done, at the releasing unit of SLMC Extension Clinic, I received a white paper that says, Applicant prefers to be vaccinated in the US, and a list of vaccines I need to have. Then the rep at the releasing section told me to take the paper and my xray film to the US with me. I asked where I should have the vaccination, and she said at any private hospital or clinic in the US.

Now, I do nothing except wait for my visa because I received pink and white slips during my interview. I am actually in the process of DV...Like some of the people here waiting for the results of their DV and release of their visa, I am so stressed with the whole waiting so, I thought, why don't I just get all these vaccination requirements...

Does anyone here know if I can still have my vaccines here or should it be in the US already since that's what's indicated on the white paper given to me?

You can get your vaccinations done whenever you want.... just maintain the record of what you received. This record then will be transcribed to a form here in the US to include with your AOS application.

YMMV

Hi payxibka,

What is your personal experience on this if I may ask? You said I can have my vaccination whenever, but can I also have it WHEREVER I want to? Can I have it here but I'll just maintain/keep the records and take it with me?

That's odd...

When I had my medical, I was very categorical in telling the SLEC that me and hubby were working up to have a baby. I was on fertility pills and everything. Although the doctor gave me the option to have the MMR or not after the preggy test yielded a negative result, she was very specific in telling me that waiving the immunization might affect the visa processing. And so I just opted to get the immunization and signed the waiver as to the liability of SLEC should I get preggy during the first 28 days after the MMR vaccination.

It's totally contrast to your case. Odd, indeed!

I re-read the instructions for K3 before I went back SLEC to confirm that this wont affect my visa approval and I saw in the instructions that one cannot be refused of a visa for having opted to have the vaccination in the US but you have to complete your vaccination requirements before your adjustment of status otherwise it will be a definite cause of your refusal for AOS...since a K3 visa is a non-immigrant, you have the option to have the vaccination here or in the US...it's on the instructions...those applying for CR1/IR1 doesnt have this option, though...

i actually want to have the vaccination here para wala ng problem when i get to the US tsaka we already paid for it, sayang naman and you see, im just waiting for my visa for almost 2 months now, for DV pa kasi ako....pagdating ko sa US, my huband and i will have to abstain bec of these vaccination requirements i did not get out of the way while i'm here in PI.... siya din naman kasi may decision na sa US na ko magpavaccine eh....kala niya kasi marerelease ang visa ko after 2 or 3 days (ayaw nya na maghintay ako to be cleared to have the vaccination after ruling out pregnancy)..who knows naman na may DV pa na proseso?!

CR1/IR1 ka ba or K3? may visa ka na? na-affect ka ba ng DV?

That's odd...

I'm under CR1/IR1. I'm now here in the US but was affected by the DV. Now that I am here and already had my period, I was thankful I had the vaccination before. If the waiting for the visa was stressful, settling is way way more stressful. Ang lamig dito, kapatid I am wilting as in! So maybe hubby and I will just do the work up to have a baby after three months. I need to get acclimatize first. Hay...sa ngalan ng pag-ibig, hahamakin talaga lahat pati na ang lamig, hahaha!

nickoftime,

im still here waiting for my visa....im with jamesnrei's forum on waiting for visa, DV paid in august...it's been two months since i had my interview....i wanted to contact SLEC bec i want to have my shots na but my docs were already forwarded to the embassy so i dont think there's a way for me to have my shots unless i have it from a private clinic...sayang talaga binayad ko, wala ako ni isang shot na nakuha....sa pagmamadali ng hubby ko na matapos medical para mainterview ako at makaalis..had we known na magtatagal din, i shouldve waited for my period na lang the following month then have my shot....
