VSC Approvals / Touches - Week of October 6

i hope they work like they are supposed to. wish we could help them.

feels like they are testing the strength of our relationship.

tired of answering the numerous question thrown at me by all who i know. wish i knew when it would come thru. but its some relief that i am not all alone and have a lot of people who are sailing in the same boat.

What does it mean that the case "WAS ASSIGNED"??

Does it mean it is with an adjudicator and will be approved shortly? Or it means it is in the system?? ;-) I don't trust USCIS call center.. If you talked to an officer/adjudicator, maybe I trust that a little bit more (not much more!)

I hope to get a b'day gift since it's coming in mid-October

My Birthday is today! Maybe they will be really nice and make a present for me!

By the way, does anybody know how long usually it takes to get approval if the case is given to an adjudicator???

We didn't see any activity on our case since 8th of May. Yesterday my husband called VSC and they said that our case was assigned.

Jen - can you please post here how to contact an officer at VSC nowadays, since all the menu options have changed. I am a bit desperate and want to call VSC.

So I called uscis and talked to an officer and apparently my fist touch which was 10/2 was vsc assigning me an A number and that it has not been assigned to anyone yet.

So time to call my reps.

What I mean by assigned to anyone is that iit has not been assigned to an adjustacator (not sure how its spelled)

And what I mean by reps is my senator and state representatives regarding my case

Well, called at the number using the prompts, I was told to get in touch with center that has my case (VSC) - He did tell me that there are no numbers for that office and I'd have to write them a letter.

Is there a number for VSC?

I'm an august 08 filer and I had a touch on my I-130 today (Oct 8), first touch since Aug 21. No touches on the K-3 though.....Not gonna get overly excited since I know the history of VSC, nevertheless, it's nice to see that they did something with my file finally. Good luck to all of you who have been waiting so long!
