I hope to get a b'day gift since it's coming in mid-October

My Birthday is today! Maybe they will be really nice and make a present for me! :innocent:

By the way, does anybody know how long usually it takes to get approval if the case is given to an adjudicator???

We didn't see any activity on our case since 8th of May. Yesterday my husband called VSC and they said that our case was assigned.

Jen

You should have your approval this week! :)

What does it mean that the case "WAS ASSIGNED"??

Does it mean it is with an adjudicator and will be approved shortly? Or it means it is in the system?? ;-) I don't trust USCIS call center.. If you talked to an officer/adjudicator, maybe I trust that a little bit more (not much more!)

Assigned means someone is working on that case. I think ronjie posted in CR1/IR1 forum that their petition was touched on 10/5 and 10/6. He has filed for K-3. His NOA1 for I-130 is 03/07, if I remember correctly. That petition should be approved anytime this week since the touches were recent and the petition is due for an approval.

That means that they have started working on March 1st week cases. Any filers from Feb or early March should be approved by end of this or next week. Please let this optimistic statement be right, almighty :)

My Noa1's are 3/7 & 3/24. I hope you are right and they started to work on March files? So far I have not even been touched yet since 4/14 & 5/8 which I think they then were pairing the two files together. In any case back to praying for some light at the end of the tunnel. Hope to see some approvals soon, maybe?

With an adjudicator is great news. We got our K3 NOA2 3 days after being told it was with an adjudicator (it had been assigned the day before our call). You should see your approval soon.

I hope to get a b'day gift since it's coming in mid-October

Mine are very similar as well.

This question may have been asked and answered before, so forgive me in advance for asking again. But how do you speak with someone knowledgeable enough to tell you that your case is with an adjudicator? I called the USCIS customer service number and spoke to a gentleman that only read me scripted answers. Whenever I inquired about more information, he suggested an Infopass appointment.

How do you guys get to talk to an officer at VSC? Is there a number? I believe I saw this number here at VJ months ago, but the topics go to the last pages and it is hard to find them... Someone gave me a number last week and we could talk to someone at USCIS, but I'm not sure if our request really got to VSC.

I'm interested in this because my husband had a hard time last week trying to talk to someone to request them to expedite our case. After getting mad with whoever was speaking to him, he was finally transferred to another someone who received his request. But he said it was so quick that they didn't let him explain the reasons. So we are worried that they may have ignored the request. I mean, we'd rather receive a no as an answer than being ignored. And so far, his call didn't generate and update on their website. We're going to wait until friday because I read somewhere that they have 10 days to give an answer to that. Right? If we don't get any reply, I believe we'll call again.

I know March filers should expect to be approved anytime this month, according to the trends. But it is difficult to believe in any logic coming form VSC, so we may wait a lot longer, we don't know. And at this point, it is very complicated for me and husband to wait a lot more due to many things. So we want to insist in the options we have.

Well, I'm trying not to lose hope. Good Luck for you all!

A new week,,,

I really hope that we see some approvals...even if it's not mine, but someone else's... as long as we see something moving.

Your I-130 and mine are only 2 days apart. Maybe we'll get some good news soon. I only had one touch which was 9/27 and then nothing... I'm starting to worry that they just looked at our application and said, "Ah, don't like this one" and tossed it...as we never got a touch after that (and others usually get several touches in a row).

February filer here, just touched once 5 mos ago and nothing fallows. Waiting for NOA2.
