Your ridiculous generalizations serve no purpose except perhaps to make you feel good because you can 'name' someone to blame. If you feel good, then sure, why not you go ahead and do it.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

A.J, you are on a roll in this thread, I nearly split my sides :lol:Ok, I nearly spilt my cup of tea.

I especially like the idea of 'our enemies' gloating over the financial crisis, hell rub it up those stupid 'Merkins, correct?.

if you do that, won't you lose your british citizenship?

Auto manufacturers are regulated, quite strictly as are many other manufacturers. Why should mortgage lenders operate without safety measures? There will always be stupid people and it's a silly argument to say that they shouldn't be protected from themselves, particularly if the consequences are bad not only for them, but also for those who have been prudent with their finances.

It's not a silly argument to say that they shouldn't be protected from themselves. They are stupid, who cares.

It is however a silly argument to say that WE shouldn't be protected from them. Our economy shouldn't be allowed to collapse just because there are stupid people in the world.

I care because I end up paying for the stupidity, either directly or indirectly. I'd rather have the regulations so that I don't end up paying more than absolutely necessary for the stupid people.

you're setting off my republican detection meter again.

You have to do a lot to get excommunicated from being British - simply spilling tea into your saucer only causes officialdom to raise an eyebrow momentarily.

Your ignorance regarding this subject is profound....i suggest you do some research and then come back to this thread.

As has been said many times before, follow the money!

Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Chuck Shumer, Barack Obama, Acorn.......

Do your homework grasshopper........

Shhhh... don't tell kaydee he's in denial. The rest of us already know its more to do with deregulation.

Nope, it has everthing to do with the democrats rsistance to reign in Fannie and Freddie since 2001 when the Bush administration singled the agencies out as a "problem".....

Barney, Dodd (aka Countrywide's bedfellow) and Shumer, amongst others pushed back on republican initiatives to ewgulate them.

This has nothing to do with Wall Street. That's all populism and designed to work up the uninformed.....

It seems that in your case they succeeded.

OK big shot. Pull out the exact wording in those pieces of legislation that makes the GOP look like financial regulators. You won't be able to because the language is quite profit-permissive instead of being what it says it is. Perhaps that's why those bills didn't get Democrat support back then?

Guess what? I've already read it. Try again.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Since you've already read it, would you be so kind as to provide a link to the full text of said legislation?

Let's analyze it, shall we?

Read it, past tense. Go ahead and wait for Kaydee to substantiate his claim that the GOP version of said bills would in fact, have regulated the financial sector to the point of averting runaway profiteering.

Hmm

9,447..

On a lighter note I filled up at $3.29 a gallon. Which is funny to think that this is now cheap.

These clowns who run OPEC need to drop the price to get the world economies rolling again..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I thought gas prices were already dropping as a result of the market crisis? We had a 30c drop in the last 2-3 weeks.

My understanding of the problem is that the investors don't know where to invest funds as everything in the economy seems to be connected and is therefore affected by the current problems. There doesn't seem to be anything stable worth investing in, except perhaps gold. Certainly not property.

Where does anyone suppose all that bail out money went?

Hmmm?

Who will demand an statement of account(s), balance sheet, anything?

Another thought:

What if no one drove their car for a week, or a month even???

Oh me and my fantasy world....
