This sounds like a fun trick to try!

I usually bounce the hard-boiled egg around in a dry pan until it has little cracks all over it, then dunk it in cold water, and the shell comes off very easily. But it's not nearly this dramatic. :)

Doing the rapid cooling with ice makes peeling so much easier as well... the shell will come off in much bigger chunks
