January 21, 2008 - NOA1

March 16, 2008 - NOA2

August 7&9,2008 - Medical K1&K2

August 21, 2008 - Paid document verification fee (P1,300)

August 27, 2008 - Interview

September 08,2008 - Document Verification request sent to NSO

Spetember 19,2008 - Document Verification done -sent back to US Embassy Manila

November 03, 2008 - Case under review

November 26, 2008 - VISA printed

November 28, 2008 - VISA in transit

December 02, 2008- VISA IN HAND

January 12, 2009 - Arrived USA, POE Los Angeles

January 21, 2009 - Got married

January 22, 2009 - Applied for SSN

February 10, 2009 - Went to Dr. Janet Pettyjohn for form I-693

February 11, 2009 - Sent our AOS packet to Chicago

February 12, 2009 - Packet received signed for by L BOX

February 22, 2009 - Received NOA1 for AOS, EAD & AP

March 17, 2009 - Biometrics Appointment

March 21, 2009 - SSN card arrived in the mail

April 6, 2009 - took driver's license exam and passed! (written and road test)

April 10, 2009 - Repeat Biometrics Appointment

April 14,2009 - Received AP documents in the mail

April 16, 2009 - Received EAD in the mail

SEptember 4, 2009 - GREENCARD received

I don't even see in the link where it says someone with an abortion must undergo psychiatric evaluation.

Is this something that's done per consulate?

Indeed, if that's true, then it's highly disturbing. I've never heard of any "required" psychiatric eval after an abortion, at least not in the U.S. I've heard of having to go through a ridiculous "waiting period", but never a psych eval.

March 18th, 2009: AOS package delivered, signed for by J. Chyba

March 24th, 2009: NOA1

March 25th, 2009: Check cashed

March 27th, 2009: NOA1 in hand

April 3rd, 2009: Case transferred to CSC (YES!)

April 9th, 2009: Biometrics

May 6th, 2009: EAD and AP approval notices sent

May 12th, 2009: AOS Touch

May 13th, 2009: AOS Touch, EAD received

June 18th, 2009: CRIS approval email, card production ordered - yes!

June 18th, 2009: Welcome notice mailed

June 22nd, 2009: Welcome notice received

July 2, 2009: Green card received!

I'm approved! The interview went well and without any problem. Everybody there at the embassy treated me well and with respect especially the lady consul. They are not concerned about abortion at all and did not even ask me about it. Seriously, I observed that they are more particular about illegal immigration, lying, and overstaying in the US. Thank you to all of you guys who imparted their intelligent and correct opinion about the matter.

Hahaha! Congrats. I know my opinion is already moot and academic but just in case someone would find herself in the same boat, she should not feel paranoid at all. The psychiatric exam that SLEC may require is actually a chance for the applicant to be cleared of any impression of mental or psychiatric illness or disorder. It's the GP that makes the notation on whatever abnormality found during the physical exam, like self-inflicted scars or as in your case, history of abortion. Being referred to psychiatric evaluation may cause you delay in the completion of the medical exam but it is actually more to counter the impressions noted by the GP. Hope this helps

Hi i also have the same situation. Did u disclose everything that happened about ur abortion? Like did they ask why did it happen what have caused it? Pls help me. Im getting my medical nxt wk thanks.
