As that fella from One Foot in the Grave said so many times.. "I don't believe it".. We sent in our packet a few weeks ago (check time line) and it was returned to us yesterday!... I can't believe we went and sent it in without signing the stupid thing! Ready to go again and to send it back in!

Made me think if we did this last minute, had it returned.. and returned it after the GC expired would we be in trouble?

Yep, I know the feeling... After I dropped my I129F in the mail I headed off to the Philippines for my engagement party. I returned home 2 weeks later only to find my package returned because I forgot to sign the form !! Ughh

Good Luck to you, I hope you have speedy processing.

Oh my... it's always hard to believe that you could forget something so simple as to sign that complicated form.. but it happens!!! I never sign anything until I'm ready to put it in an envelope to send, and often I get stuff prepard in advance.. so I can see how it happens  At least you have it sent back to them and hoping that they send you a speedy positive decision very soon... Best of luck to ya :)

Hi Aidan80,

That's ok, we all make mistakes at times, and can learn from them. It's a good thing though, that they sent it back, so at least you know what the mistake is, correct it, and can send it back right away for further processing....

One more thing: Don't forget to sign the application forms when you re-send it in!!... (though I'm sure you know this already)

Good luck too, in getting your NOA and your Biometrics letter next.

Best of luck with the (signed) I-751 Aidan! I sent my I-751 last April, but I do not expect to see any decision made til at least March, if not later. I'm not too worried about that anyway. I can apply for naturalization in March so I'll concentrate on that instead.

No worries Aidan -- in my AOS package, I forgot to sign one of the cheques. So for the ROC I was hyper-vigilant with the cheque......and forgot to check a box on the first page of the form.

Hi Everyone,

By the way, speaking of cheques/checks and the AOS....

I remember for my AOS I had sent in an expired money order, not realizing it was expired (I had written it before I had finally submitted all of the completed paperwork awhile later). I then got an RFE for that, which said "insufficient biometrics fees". When I called the USCIS (and was put on hold for 1hr+ before speaking to a live person), they just repeated the "insufficient biometrics fees" message, without explaining what exactly was wrong. I then got another RFE a week later.

So I checked the forms again, and was sure that I had paid the right fee ($70). So I checked the customer copy of the money order I had and....

Luckily, I had kept a customer copy of the money order, and realized what the mistake was, as it clearly states that it "expires after 90 days it is issued". I then had to get a refund for the money order at the BOA (note to self: never bank there again), and had to wait for over 4+ hours for it to be refunded (it had to be transferred from another non-local BOA branch where I originally got the money order from).

And then I had to go to the post office and write a new $70 money order, and send it in to the USCIS. A week after I sent the new money order in, I got my biometrics letter, and had my biometrics appt. a week after.

As well, the lawyer we hired and filed the paperwork with didn't tell us about this expired money order either, and after the interview gave us back the original expired money order (apparently the USCIS had sent the money order back to them, and not me...)

Oh well, lessons learned: Always keep copies of cheques/checks, money orders, etc. Use personal cheques/checks instead of money orders. Double, triple check everything. And always investigate on your own when something is wrong, as nobody else will tell you what the mistake is then...

Ant (Still waiting at the VSC...)
