I entered the uSA at JFK and got a 90 work autorization. I don't have a Social Security Number yet. Can work without this SSN?

From my understanding you can start work but have to have applied for a SSN and informed your employer. He needs the SSN in order to make proper deductions for various benefits and for income tax purposes. Getting a SSN is usually one of the easiest parts of the process so why not get it sooner rather than later? You can be looking for work while waiting for it to be processed - which usually just takes a few weeks. As a K-1 you just need to take your passport with your visa and valid I-94 to your local SS official and apply. They will check with immigration - so it takes about 2 weeks after your arrival before you are in the system - and then issue you a number and card.

I think the other reply is correct, but it will still be up tp the employer to make the final decsion to hire you, in any case apply and get your SSN.

You'll have a hard time finding an employer who will hire you without a SSN, I think. Best to apply for SSN ASAP.

You will need to quit working if you don't have an EAD card by the time the 90 K-1 work authorization runs out.
