Hello again

I entered the uSA at JFK and got a 90 work autorization. I don't have a Social Security Number yet. Can work without this SSN?

REMOVING CONDITIONS

August 12th 2008: Sent I 751 to CSC

Dec 5th 2008: Green Card in the mail

NATURALIZATION

Dec 4th: Sent N 400

March 18th: Interview

May 24th 2011: Oath in Minneapolis. Journey is over.

From my understanding you can start work but have to have applied for a SSN and informed your employer. He needs the SSN in order to make proper deductions for various benefits and for income tax purposes. Getting a SSN is usually one of the easiest parts of the process so why not get it sooner rather than later? You can be looking for work while waiting for it to be processed - which usually just takes a few weeks. As a K-1 you just need to take your passport with your visa and valid I-94 to your local SS official and apply. They will check with immigration - so it takes about 2 weeks after your arrival before you are in the system - and then issue you a number and card.
