What Qualifies Obama to be President of the US?

I'm not getting the impression that our Dims know much about Obama. Repost to maybe help fire up them talk about something other than their disdain for Sarah Palin:

What qualifications does he have? With all the focus on Palin, I haven't seen that discussed here.

I'll tell you what aren't qualifications:

Being Black.

Being liberal.

Being a short term US Senator.

Being a community organizer.

Being a socialist.

Being a Harvard law grad.

Being an elitist.

Being oblivious to your pals being terrorists, fraud artists and white people hating pastors.

Helping your bud Tony Rezko make money being a slum lord, so he helps you buy personal property.

Lying about heading Senate committees you're not even on.

Lying about working across the aisle with John McCain when you didn't.

Lying about your vote on funding the war, even before you were in Congress.

Attending elite schools from childhood, making 4.7 million during the Bush administration and still whining about how hard life is in the US.

Calling your grandma a "typical white woman" because she was scared of a Black man.

Taking large sums of money from Fredie Mac and Fannie Mae.

A serious discussion about presidential qualifications would be to first find a consensus of what those qualifications are and then use that in the context of past presidential candidates to see where the current candidates stand. When you do that, VW, you'll see how painfully obvious that your attempt at disqualifying Obama as not presidential material is ridiculous. You don't like Obama because of the policies and ideas he stands behind...it's that simple. You continue to sidestep that argument because you know that on the issues, at least this time around, the Democratic Party's platform and the Democratic ticket of Obama/Biden is in step with what the American people want. They want universal healthcare. They want us out of Iraq. They want us to address Global Warming...etc, etc. This particular presidential race isn't going to be won or lost on personality or qualifications, it's going to be won or lost on which ticket offers the American people the best ideas to move forward. The old partisan, rhetoric of liberal vs. conservative just doesn't apply...particularly in light of the recent bipartisan bailout. We're beyond being stuck on ideological arguments...this is about ideas.

Word.

Please don't confuse VW and her neo-con pals with facts & a coherent argument, they get really annoyed when you do that.

I'm quite aware of that. They're just pissed off that their guy makes all the wrong moves and stands on the wrong side of most of the issues. I's actually fun to watch them b!tch. Even Karl Rove had to admit that the McSame team is totally lost and has been handling the campaign rather incompetently while Obama's team has done very well.

VW I've seen absolutely no facts from you about McCain either, just rhetoric & BS about Obama. One would think that experience would be an asset & generally it is, but McCain's has run a very negative, sleazy & dishonest campaign & that's what bothers me and many others. McCain ran a clean campaign based on his experience back in 2000 & Bush ran over him due to the dirty, sleazy, negative tactics of Karl Rove & Co. Apparently McCain has adopted the "if you can't beat them, join them" philosophy this time around.

Personally I believe if McCain ran a clean campaign like he did back in 2000 he might very well be ahead in the polls right now, but I've lost all respect for him as a politician (as have many others) and I find many of his tactics to be insulting to my intelligence. You (in your myopic view of the world) blindly support McCain simply because you hate anyone who opposes him (painting them all as left wing nut jobs).

The truth of the matter is that roughly 87% of Americans (based on various polls I've seen) have already made up their mind about voting either for McCain or Obama. The remaining 13% are the the non-committed voters (mostly Independents) and who they vote for will determine our next president. Therefore your (missplaced) anger & hatred over the so called "dimocrats" is totally irrelevant... the left & right cancel each other out & a handful of non-commited moderates are the key to winning.
