Perhaps you should take your own advice and move on. This is not a defend McCain thread, however much it is essential that the actual topic of this thread be derailed and diverted to anything BUT supporting Obama.

Way to go, hypocrite, just like what you criticize.

Let it not be overlooked that VW started this thread to divert a question which was asked of her that she preferred not to answer.

Very Palin-esq, eh?

Of course.

But that's ok - its not like she was ever interested in a debate - as she has said on many occasions. And of course she won't justify her own choice beyond the realm of general ideology (abortion - yadda, yadda, yadda). Surely the appropriate response to her question would be a stereotypical liberal position on every issue and that would be enough justification for her.

Though of course it wouldn't be - as she naturally grants herself more leeway to be vague on the subject and clearly doesn't hold herself to the same high standards she is damanding from every else.

looks like her answer was .... she doesn't think Obama has any qualifications ....

is that not an answer?

I'll ask again since you didn't answer the question: What presidential qualifications is Obama devoid of?

Easy. I don't think he has any; he's a lightweight do nothing, anti-military opportunist who wouldn't be on the Dim ticket except that he is Black and lots of libs who support him suffer fom White guilt. But, try to persuade me otherwise by answering my question, what qualifications does he have to be president?

Come on, Steve. Express your enthusiasm for your man by pumping him up in your own words. I can't wait.

I recall reading a number of times in this thread that VW wanted input as to why this candidate was so qualified .... you know ... provide reasons.

It appeared there was not an invitation to debate the reasons ... just to be given (informed of) the reasons.

Will someone please provide the post # where VW wanted to debate the reasons ... cause I can't seem to locate the post ....

In a school-yard fight, it might be.

It's not an answer in a grown-up conversation.

That is funny to hear considering your first post in this thread was:

Just make sure you get your stories straight when you come back.

Can you show me the legitimate grown-up conversation in that post?

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Rubbish. She started a legitimate thread and the usual dumb asses turned this into a stereotypical OT VJ bash the conservative thread.

as she naturally grants herself more leeway to be vague on the subject and clearly doesn't hold herself to the same high standards she is demanding from every else.

That is really funny coming from you considering how many have accused you of doing this exact same thing.

For example:

Six's buddies generalize = Jump on the bandwagon

Others with opposing views generalize = drill them on it and "give them enough rope to hang themselves"

A while back she made it clear that she doesn't consider this board to be a useful forum for (any) discussion - hence she would refuse to elaborate on her own views, but aggressively demand them from others.

In fact her stock response to having this pointed out is pretty much always of the "everyone else can generalize and say vague, unsubstantiated things - so can I".

This begs the question as to why she's being so gung-ho about things now - especially given that she has not once provided her reasoning for her choice outside of stereotypical ideological positions about abortion and big government.

I'm not getting the impression that our Dims know much about Obama. Repost to maybe help fire up them talk about something other than their disdain for Sarah Palin:

What qualifications does he have? With all the focus on Palin, I haven't seen that discussed here.

I'll tell you what aren't qualifications:

Being Black.

Being liberal.

Jackie Mason explains the issue quite well..

You don't know why you like Obama either?

I know why I like him but first two things:

- I haven't read this entire thread - so I may repeat something someone else has said.

- I'll tell you what aren't qualifications:

Being Black.

I continue to be astounded that people continue to think like this. It does not matter what the colour of this mans skin is - it's not just you, there was an article in the paper the other day about voting on the bail out package and it was stated that Obama called 'black' senators to persuade them to support it or whatever - WHAT?

I like Obama because he is sincere, I like him because he is actually a thinking person. Do I agree with all of his plans? No. I completely support universal healthcare and that's not on his agenda - but I do intend to let that be known by contacting my representative after the election. If someone who is actually thinking gets in to the White House, then there will be an opportunity for good change.

The 'Government' is not just a bunch of people in suits sitting around making decisions for us. We are the Government.

Oh and i'm not a 'democrat' and I resent being pigeon holed with millions of others just because I like this guy.

In a country where for the past 8 years and through 2 elections, George Bush has been president, I believe that this country should be ecstatic that someone of Obamas calibre is running for President.

It is seriously quite funny when someone starts a thread or posts a view which goes against the grain of OT VJ, only to receive personal attacks and insults from those with opposing views. On top of that these very same people turn around and claim the OP was never interested in a legitimate debate or discussion.

EG:

"I believe the lack of success by certain cultures in America has a lot to do with their negative attitude"

Stereotypical OT VJ response: "Shut up you racist fool". "You don't know anything" " bla bla bla"

A few posts later, the second poster and so forth are accusing the OP of refusing to participate in a "legitimate debate or discussion".:wacko:

I will say it again...

I'm not voting for McCain because his old ### is going to die and then we will be stuck with Palin's dumb ### :o

Now here is an example of a "legitimate" opinion / post. Where one states their actual opinion, rather than an "OMG the OP is dumb"..

That's a nice softening of your views Boo-Yah, but it isn't really accurate of how these things go down is it.

As for the bolded part - she has said this herself on numerous occasions. She isn't up for discussion only ridiculing perceived "libruls". Why take her at her word now and give her the ammunition to fuel her obvious prejudice?
