What Qualifies Obama to be President of the US?

Hello again. Thanks for reposting the guidelines.

I'll tell you what aren't qualifications:

• Being Black.
• Being liberal.
• Being a short term US Senator.
• Being a community organizer.
• Being a socialist.
• Being a Harvard law grad.
• Being an elitist.
• Being oblivious to your pals being terrorists, fraud artists and white people hating pastors.
• Helping your bud Tony Rezko make money being a slum lord, so he helps you buy personal property.
• Lying about heading Senate committees you're not even on.
• Lying about working across the aisle with John McCain when you didn't.
• Lying about your vote on funding the war, even before you were in Congress.
• Attending elite schools from childhood, making 4.7 million during the Bush administration and still whining about how hard life is in the US.
• Calling your grandma a "typical white woman" because she was scared of a Black man.
• Taking large sums of money from Fredie Mac and Fannie Mae.

He's over the minimum age requirement.

He's an American citizen.

He can spell his own name.

What other "qualifications" are there?

I wasn't aware that John McCain had experience being President either.

In fact, I'd say that no first-term President has started the job with any experience being President. Just kinda follows logically like that.

There IS no experience for being President. There is only a measure of how long the candidate has been in politics in order to gauge their level of corruption and disinterest in the plight of normal people. In that regard, yes...McCain has more experience.

I didn't ask about experience. I wanted to hear from people who planned to vote for Obama as to why they feel he is qualified. I thought I would. Little did I know how much of an arduous task it would turn out to be and how much Obama supporters prefer insults to praising their guy.

McCain also supported the comprehensive immigration bill, like many others, and was even co-writing it with Kennedy which included amnesty. He only retracted his support when starting to plan for 2008.

A serious discussion about presidential qualifications would be to first find a consensus of what those qualifications are and then use that in the context of past presidential candidates to see where the current candidates stand. When you do that, VW, you'll see how painfully obvious that your attempt at disqualifying Obama as not presidential material is ridiculous. You don't like Obama because of the policies and ideas he stands behind...it's that simple. You continue to sidestep that argument because you know that on the issues, at least this time around, the Democratic Party's platform and the Democratic ticket of Obama/Biden is in step with what the American people want. They want universal healthcare. They want us out of Iraq. They want us to address Global Warming...etc, etc. This particular presidential race isn't going to be won or lost on personality or qualifications, it's going to be won or lost on which ticket offers the American people the best ideas to move forward. The old partisan, rhetoric of liberal vs. conservative just doesn't apply...particularly in light of the recent bipartisan bailout. We're beyond being stuck on ideological arguments...this is about ideas.

You have not genuinely participated in one legitimate discussion about Obama. Unless you believe posting brain dead ####### about McCain is legitimate.
