Good Morning, I-134 Question, but first, my particulars: I've been unable to work since breaking three vertebrae in my neck in 1980, so all my income comes from 1099 earned interest + an annual non-tax gift from the family. Last Year, it was about 18k combined. This year it should be over 20, and for 2009 around 25. My total liquid assets are about 240k. I have no debt, no dependants, and very low cash outflow. My questions are, first: Is an annual gift declarable as I-134 income? And, secondly: Is my financial situation sufficiently, uh, sufficient, to likely be found acceptable by the Federal powers-that-be in charge of issuing K1 Visas? Sorry to be a bother, but I couldn't find anything on the Forum addressing my situation. Thanks in advance to any and all who may be able to provide me with greater clarity on this matter.

I wouldn't claim the annual gift as income but your assets far exceed what would be required to qualify. They convert at 1 to 3 ratio to make up for any income shortfall. I would attach a letter explaining the gift and any other information you think may be helpful.
