Wedding music

Seems like a big waste to invite so many people only for them to leave early cos they are having a miserable time.

:) I knew this is going to bite me eventually... you see, I put my foot down on number of people to be invited (mainly because I hate crowds ) so we shall be having only close family and friends. The agreement is to keep it under 50 of which 30 are his family alone :). Out of all people that will be invited only my parents, his father and I won't enjoy grunge music. The parents can turn their hearing aids off and I'll be coming equipped with ear defenders, so the rest will hopefully enjoy themselves :). It might be his wedding but it's mine too and I know he's smart enough not to want to start his married life sleeping with his dog instead of me :innocent:;).

Well, by compromise... I mean compromise....

I certainly dont mean an entire night of Nirvana or screaming Death Metal... I am pretty hardcore by most people's standards but all the screaming can be a bit much. ;)

I'm quite sure you can find a song or two that would suit even this most special day by making your H2B happy and without offending anyone else. ;)

IMO the more diverse the music is, the better.

We had keltic music; 70's rock; blues; jazz; even marching band music.

Mix it up and let it be fun. Nobody is going to leave because of a tune or two.

A few tunes is one thing, the wedding I went to was non-stop screeching thrash. Not my idea of a party. It sucked azz.

Oh, I forgot to say that he's in charge of music... And well, I suppose, just about everything else apart from my dress :). As he's local to the event, it made sense for him to take over organising everything (and no, he didn't mind all that much ;) and I was more than willing to let him do it). It's difficult to plan a wedding being 4000 miles away and more than a bit worrying not to be able to participate more :P . And the first challenge we encountered is the music choice. If it was up to me, we'd have a ceilidh

BTW, he said thanks for the support. We thought it would be a more in my favour  .

On the other end of the music spectrum, it would also have been a lousy party if it had been all Lawrence Welk-ish.

Wedding music should reflect the couples taste, but take into consideration that other guests will be there too.
