CONGRATS!!

i just have a question: what's a MARRIAGE INDEX? is that the CENOMAR? do we need this? my husband's interview is Nov 18 so we still have time to get all the necessary requirements if i'm missing something..

thanks in advance for your help!

yes it is the CENOMAR, but instead of it yeilding that your hubby is single, it will indicate that he has been married once to you (granted that benificiary has only been indeed married JUST once). on the question if you need it or not, IT DEPENDS ON THE CO. of all interviewed so far, i guess i was the ONLY IR1 beneficiary asked for this document. but since your interview is still next month, there's no harm if you secure the document just in case the CO asks for it.

salamat ha? wouldn't hurt to be overprepared and just get one of those things. na-delay nga yung case namin b'cuz of the dumb NBI clearance.. they wanted a police clearance too.. so i made him get one. ewan ko if kailin talaga ng police clearance but they now have it..

when we were in bora last august, all it did was rain.. so that was interesting.. and then the last day, out came the sun.. go figure! and what's the purpose of that environmental fee when the beach was dirty??

we all have read countless medical and interview experiences here at VJ. so i'll cut the ####### and roll out the particular infos i just wanna share so that others can benefit from this post.

MEDICAL

i came to SLEC at exactly 9:15 AM. as expected, a lot of people were there but i was surprised i didn't encounter any hassle as i went along with my medical. i followed the working flowchart the guard gave me upon entering the facility. the guide was comprehensive so you won't have any problem understanding the whole process. i managed to complete my medical without any problem at 2PM. i was asked to come back next day for the results.

the next day i went back to SLEC 1PM, i approached the guard and he look up my name on the master list. he told me i can have my farewell party when i return to cebu. it was odd and i was like why is he telling me this so soon when in fact i haven't been interviewed yet.. hahaha..but i must admit, the thought amused me. i had my immunization that day, 4shots. overall, my medical went perfectly fine.

INTERVIEW

i arrived 5:45 AM for my 6:30 AM interview schedule. there were already dozens of people sitted ahead of me. i got in the USEM 6:20 AM. the prescreening when just fine. the prescreener noticed that my husband was born filipino citizen. she just asked me 2 questions:

how did he get to the US and in what year?

when did he become US citizen? what EXACT date?

after that she asked me to return to my seat and wait until my name will be called. had my fingerprint scanned and finally waited for my number on the cue board for my final interview with the CO. my number flashed.

6030 > 28

i went over to window 28 and a blue-eyed CO was seated across me. she administered the oath and started asking me questions.

what is your petioner's complete name?

how, when and where did you meet your husband?

how many times has he visited the country eversince the relationship started up until now?

when was the last time you saw him?

do you two have children? and have you applied for CRBA?

what kind of job do you have here in PI?

when are you planning to take your stateboard?

while she was doing her interview, she was typing details on her computer screen then she finally said,

i didn't see any problem with all your submitted documents and your english is excellent

(i was like, my english was excellent? hahaha..hmmm, i was expecting something different for a final comment)

and she added..

there's just ONE thing i want from you..

(ONE thing she wants? OMG! that moment, i wished i didn't complain)

please submit a MARRIAGE INDEX to prove that there's no previos marriage that occured before your union with your petitioner

(MARRIAGE INDEX??? i almost fainted..lol. first time i heard this term!)

i finally regained focus, i asked the CO what it was exactly and then she explained what the document was and i almost leaped for joy!!! I HAVE THAT WITH ME!!! i handed the marriage index to her and she smiled and said,

well, there's nothing more i can say. start packing! WELCOME TO AMERICA!

i said my thank yous and with a big smile, i headed out the room. wow..it felt great..i was seated still floating in disbelief when i heard my name called. i was given a pink slip and i paid delbros for visa delivery.

all the time, i was conditioning myself for a white slip knowing that my DV was NOT processed yet. but neither the prescreener nor the CO asked for my DV receipt from metrobank. the ONLY strange document they asked from me and i NEVER even expected was the MARRIAGE INDEX from NSO..

now i await my visa delivery..i'm back in cebu after the whole trip..tired..but happy that everything is done and behind me..good luck to everyone awaiting their turn and just a piece of advise, stay focused, be OVERLY prepared and pray..

congrats. have a safe trip

i can't seem to get a good tan, the sun keeps hiding behind the clouds..basta our son is enjoying, okey na sa'kin yun! he's been running the whole day up until now. i;m beginning to regret why i give him too many vitamins  hahaha..you were asking earlier where my hubby is from in vegas, sa southwest area medyo malapit lang sa strip para malapit lang siya sa work so he could save gas! hahaha..mahirap na buhay. tsk, tsk, tsk.. lol

true, i too believed in that. knowing that you have everything with you during the interview will ease the anxiety. well, i wish your husband luck during his upcoming interview and congratulations on the coming of an angel..i just noticed in your timeline that you're pregnant..i've been there once and i know the feeling is awesome. ^_^

when we were in bora last august, all it did was rain.. so that was interesting.. and then the last day, out came the sun.. go figure! and what's the purpose of that environmental fee when the beach was dirty??

lol  good thing it's not raining here right now and i must say the beachline is perfect, far from the disaster it once looked like last june after the typhoon..the staff here at la carmela are warm and friendly. i've been to regency and other few resorts here and i must say i never expected somehting like this before i checked in..worth every cent..

thanks! you too, CONGRATULATIONS. i've been following your journey and you were very brave, i'm happy for you now that everything is over and behind you and once again you are in the loving arms of your partner..

looking back, i guess it was one of those things you'd rather not recall but seriously, it made us (your VJ family) see how strong your love is for each other..so again, i'm sincerely happy for you..

i'm not having such a great time with my pregnancy.. i'm on medical leave at this time due to severe nausea.. pretty awful #######.. but we are so excited! thank you for the well-wishes!

should i have him get a CENOMAR for me too since i'm filipino-born? did you get your husband that or was that just yours?

another question: i don't need to have him bring all those NSO documents with him to the interview, right? they should have all the originals already. just have him bring evidences.. they have mine and his original certified true copy birth certificates, our marriage certificate from the NSO, NBI clearance, police certificate, copy of my naturalization certificate, original 3 years of my tax transcripts.. am i missing something?

but then i don't want them asking for it and then he can't produce it.. i'm so anxious. i know for K3 you need to bring all that ####### because they didn't go through NVC first...

thought i'd bother you since you and i are kinda in the same boat.. :)

i too had episodes of nausea and vomitting but i only have it during the evenings which was kinda strange.. anyways, this is normal for most pregnant women in the 1st trimester. it will eventually subside on the suceeding trimesters. just hang in there..

going back to the topic..

i personally don't think it's a good idea to rely on the fact that you have previously submitted the NSO originals. i too did, but i didn't wanna take the risk of being asked for a particular document and not have it with me. i'd suggest that your hubby bring "back-up" for everything you have submitted (in originals) to NVC during his interview. this would include BC, MC, NBI and whatever you think the CO might want..which could be ANYTHING..just come prepared..overly prepared just to play safe..

about the CENOMAR/marriage index, tell your hubby to secure only HIS marriage index. no need to secure one on your behalf, just his.
