It's so expensive all of a sudden!!! :crying: When I checked last week Iberia had a roundtrip flight for a little over $600pp. Now the cheapest I can find is around $1,200 pp!!!! Any thoughts on if it's going to get better/worse?

I use www.flycheapabroad.com

maybe you can play around on it and try different leaving and returning dates. I typed in a Monday in Dec and to return 2 weeks later on a Wednesday and it was around $1,000.

Wierd question for you - did you check Iberia directly?

I've flown Iberia to Morocco or Europe in the past, but I've always booked through American Airlines. Since they're a codeshare partner, the Iberia flights come up on aa.com, but significantly cheaper than if I book directly with Iberia. Just a thought

I'll try that and the other ideas. Thanks! We want to go the third week in April so I guess I"ll play around with leaving Thurs or Fri before and returning maybe Sat or sun after.

eta: whoops. . . also if cheryl and medo are reading can you give me the name of the place that you stayed at near the pyramids? I think it would be cool to see them while sitting on the balcony at night! I lost the name though when I cleared out my pm box. :(

I don't know about flights/hotels by the pyramids...but my hotel was the Sheraton on the Nile river and it was amazing!!! :) I had a gorgeous view, a huge room, and the food was very good at the breakfast buffet. Just a thought!

O well if you are looking for April then of course the prices will be higher. March is the end of the low season ... April begins to the raising of prices ... then jumps alot in the summer! Goes down in September then up again for the month of December. All around the board ... good luck!

My Mom has been a travel agent for 8 years and says that this is the first year that the airlines are going to charge at the $4 at gallon price and keep charging a that rate without the discounts we're used to getting. So across the board the tickets will be higher than any of us have paid in the past. They already started nickle and diming us with the luggage fees. I hate to think what the economy will do to the airlines.
