I feel very uneasy about mailing back all the postal letters and cards my fiance sent to me.. Im less worried about the financial documents, but still its a concern. What would happen if the mail got lost? 5 years of precious memories will be gone and maybe no chance to show that evidence and prove our relationship.. How can you do it?? Is it something to worry about, or nothing at all?

I got USPS Global Express Guaranteed envelopes (delivered by Fed Ex) I was planning to send some non important things to see how well they work. Maybe it will calm my nerves if she gets those.

5 years! And I thought 18 months was torture!

Anyhoo, I sent all of that stuff to her by united states postal mail- priority It got there just fine. If you're that worried you could bring it there in person the next time you are there if it is going to be before her interview.

I worry everytime I sent something to her. The one time it took 7 weeks with just rgualr mail. I have used the Global Express to send her many things now, and it usually takes 1 to 2 weeks. I am just finishing up getting everything together to send her for the interview, and I will either use USPS Global Express ot I might look into DHL. DHL I believe will deliver direct to her home, where USPS only takes it to the post office. The post office notifies her she has mail, and she must go to pick it up. The one time they had already opened the box I sent her, before she even got to the post office. So I have decided to wrap everything inside the box.

Good Luck!!!

The Customs Department has inspected all of my incoming international mail (i.e. sent by USPS in the United States) here in Vietnam. Several times when I've gone to pick up my packages at the international post office in Q.1 I've seen customs officers going through other packages and inspecting their contents. Every package I've received has been opened on one end, and then taped back together before my pick-up.

Just the way of life in Vietnam!

Yeah, my fiance told me a long time they do that with all incoming mail. I'v learned its no use to even wrap gifts anymore. Oh well, if they have to check it they have to check it. Just dont steal it, hey :D
