With so many cultures in the US I wouldn't doubt you could not find either a restaurant or market that had any type of food somewhere in the 50 states.

Although, in the US, it has mostly been made illegal to slaughter horses for consumption there are places that are still able. (Although eating horsemeat to me is like my eating cow to a Hindu) To each his own. lol Hey people think I'm weird for putting ketchup on fish...

In all, depending where you are, you'll probably have to travel to find your home comforts.

For my fiance, we just have a nice 20 min drive to our local British store or we can search online for most of what we want, from beans to bangers. lol

Durian! I've heard of that. A friend went to Indonesia or something and told me about them.

They smell like rotting pigs flesh but taste divine! lol

just curious if your guys and girls are missing food from home country

how do you find american food,what you like and dislike

do your guys eating fast food each day,do you cook at home,

i am curious about how foreigners adjusting to new food in US

i am missing food from kazakhstan,my homeland,especially horse meat and mare milk

are there any french or italian butchers here in US to serve horse meat

I used to think that we had a good variety of foods in the US, but after spending more time abroad I have learned that we really are limited. If you do not live in a larger city with a decent immigrant population, there are not many places to buy real international cuisine.

I really miss REAL Chinese food. I would kill for some yang rou chuan er or rou jia mo. MMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm *drool*

My husband will be coming to the US fairly soon....to ensure he would feel more at home and not miss mama's cookin....I learned how to make Creole/Belizean food! I remember last year in Belize, making deformed tortillas as my mother-in-law guided me...now my tortillas look awesome and I can cook everything from stew chicken to plantain curries....but oddly enough, my husband tells me he is bored of Creole food now (only since he met me) and now wants me to cook Jewish food (he got used to it when I cooked that in belize, like for the Jewish holidays)...All I hear now is "bagels, bagels, bagels", and that he is sick of rice and beans...haha....he complains over the phone....lol...
