Who decides the interview date for f4 visa category??i mean who sets the interview date.

is it the NVC or Embassy??

and do u guys know about any of the amendment in the immigration rules

(i)because i have read that if the derivative beneficiary becomes older than 21 before the interview that he cant travel with his/her parents.so it means the interview is the main event that decides wether the child can travel with his parents are not.

(ii)somewhere i read that the child has to b under 21 when he arrives in the USA(this is probably the old law abolished now).it means if u have an interview prior turning 21 but fail to arrive in the USA before u turn 21 u will b left behind.u cant go although u had an interview before u turned 21.

(iii)some people say that ds-230 must b filled before the derivative beneficiary.the interview date doesnt matter.may b this is the new law.

i m confused plz tell me what the rel situation is

i need the latest information

some guys have the information but not the latest i need latest information about the laws.

reply back only if you know the latest changes in the law.

our priority date became current in dec 2006

ds-230 was filled out and sent at the end of the last month.

so plz help me in this matter

Department of State (NVC) sets interview dates for most consulates:

For certain U.S. Embassies and Consulates General, the National Visa Center (NVC) provides document collection and review, and schedules the cases for interview. The Department of State refers to these embassies and consulates as Appointment Posts.

For immigrant visa cases assigned to an Appointment Post, the NVC will collect the fees, affidavit of support, civil documents, and police certificates, as required. When a case is complete, it will be scheduled an appointment for an interview with a consular officer. For all Appointment Posts (except, the Consulate General in Guangzhou, China) the NVC will send an appointment letter to all interested parties (applicant, petitioner, and agent/attorney of record, if applicable) notifying them of the date, time, and location of the interview; and forward the petition to the appropriate embassy/consulate.

If you gave documents to ISL Embassy then ISL Embassy will give u an interview date, and i u gave to NVC with ds-230 part2 then NVC will appoint an interview date,

as far as CSPA and ur age goes, it took 1 year for NVC to put CSPA on me, i dont know weather you are in CSPA or not, you should immediately call US Embassy to expedite your case

our case was petitioned in may 1997.

i saw the conditions and i think i m eligible under CSPA.and it took 10 months to get our petition approved.so it means i still have 10 more months added to 4 months(after 4 months i will turn 21)..

and i have seen posts in which ome people have said that they mostly do not give the advantage of CSPA to the derivative beneficiaries..

and NVC requested DSA-230 not the embassy.
