The best thing America can do for world relations is vote in Obama. Your popularity rating would go from zero to 100 overnight.

Anti-American attitudes predate Bush and will continue even if Obama wins. Major changes could only take place once Obama's agenda is driven more by foreign whims than American interests. Once that happens Obama will be a one-term president.

Yes they do predate Bush. But thanks to Bush your popularity is at an all time low. Everyone in the world hates America. But....Obama is popular in Europe, Oceania etc. By the American public voting him in you'll make the world a happier place AND the world will start thinking that perhaps America does deserve a second chance.

If you vote in McCain then the world will completely give up on you. More of the same.

come on ALC - Obama would be respected by every single world leader. As it states above, USA's popularity would go from 0 to 100 practically overnight just because Obama was voted in. The fact that he would be entirely ineffective is apparently irrelevant.:devil:

Absolutely! :D

Unfortunately there are many liberals that believe that the US is in a popularity contest and this is foremost on their minds……

It’s childish and naïve and it’s an integral part of the superficiality of Obama’s celebrity and candidacy.

But popularity contests are FUN!

Interesting what part of Sir Nigel Scheinwald's comments Faux News doesn't want to report on:

But Sir Nigel who describes the Iraq war as "the Iraq expedition" and "Bush's Iraq adventure" said that Mr Obama's Iraq policy, was practically identical to Britain's. This will not please the McCain campaign that accuses Mr Obama of pursuing a policy of surrender and defeat in Iraq.

"Whatever the detail, our own proposed transition in south-east Iraq would be consistent with Obama's likely approach. Obama's ideas on a more expansive regional framework for Iraq would also fit well with our thinking."

Biased fcuks over there at Faux.

maybe that's why the us would be so popular - because the us would be ineffective.

So what? We already know what Brown's Iraq policy is. The point of the letter was to describe Obama's attributes to Brown.

He also said that Obama had the propensity to say the wrong thing to different groups of people, eg the "guns and religion" comments as well as saying that he was an elitist democrat.....

I'm not going to try to explain balance to you. We're all aware that it's an alien concept to you.

Barack Obama is a "decidedly liberal" senator "who was finding his feet, and then got diverted by his presidential ambitions", according to a frank verdict delivered to Gordon Brown by the British ambassador to the United States.

Charges of elitism "are not entirely unfair" and he is "maybe aloof, insensitive" at times.

Uh, their assesment was mostly fair as they didn't itemize everything negative said about him....

I love how the neo-cons on this forum blindly support Bush and by extension McCain, but when I brought up the Bush doctrine on another thread & how it is flawed they were quieter than a fart in church. The neo-con forum trolls love to spew the rhetoric but it comes to actually discussing an issue they simply can't do it.
