Dear friends

I have heard about this site and see how much help you can get. Please read my topic and let me know if you could help anyhow.

I was married to US citizen and he has passed away before I could file for citizenship. I have my 10 year Green card. Now it has been 5 years for me in US and I want to file on my own. What do I do? What form do I need to feel out?

Please let me know if anyone knows answer to my situation.

Thank you all for reading this.

Blessings :innocent:

It's the N-400 but read the very top post in this section above the rest, that would be a good start. Sorry for the loss of your husband.

I am sorry for your loss.

You mentioned you have been in the US for 5 years . . . have you had your green card for 5 years? While you are still married you can apply for US citizenship after 3 years of marriage but if the marriage has ended either through divorce or death then you can apply for citizenship after having your Permanent Resident status for 5 years - less 90 days. The correct form is the N-400.

Good luck to you.
