What 'supports gay marriage' means. It means that Democrats (as well as many, many independants and probably some GOP supporters too) wish to allow any couple, regardless of gender to enjoy the same freedoms, responsibilities and benefits of having a legal framework to their relationship.

Being against gay marriage is to say that anyone who doesn't conform to a more narrow definition of coupledom can be denied these freedoms, reponsibilities and benefits. This has been deemed unconstitutional as it should be.

Not sure what 'the rest' is supposed to imply, soddom and gomorrah perhaps? What is the Quran version of that by the way?

VW is part of the small but vocal group here on the forums that spout ignorance, hate, half-truths, rhetoric & flat out lies but somehow see themselves as being intellectually superior to those pesky "liberals" that they like to refer to. I wonder about those who say things like 'have a life' referring to time spent not on the computer. It's like they want to act condescending towards people who spend presumably 'too much time' on the computer as apposed to their time on the computer which is somehow perfectly appropriate. How do they work out that perfect 'computer to life' balance? I really am very intersted in how that works.

Here's what I want to know, can you vote on things you don't believe in, to respect the rights of others?

Because I can vote on how much I hate abortion too. However, some of us have the common sense and unselfish dignity to look beyond our own personal subjective issues when it comes to being a part of society and letting others have their freedom of choice, even as much as we may not like it.
